Meet Shyla Collier of Premiere Social Media in Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shyla Collier.

Shyla, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
It is all about hard work and coming across the right opportunities. I had one of the first business pages on Facebook for my first company. I was in college at the time and owned a photography business. Facebook was a college platform when it first came about. In college, I also got an internship for marketing and PR at a community college. It turned into a paid internship, then I began teaching classes there once I completed my Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Photography at Northern Arizona University.

My hands-on internship, teaching background and experience in business ownership landed me a job in marketing with a large company that was in 17 different cities. I had decided to start a marketing company on my own, as I was a single mom and wanted to work for myself. I monetized my existing networking groups and this is when Premiere Social Media came about.

I have more than 13 years in the marketing field. I am an Amazon best selling author and have written two books. My networking groups have expanded to five in Arizona and we went from just doing social media to offering all forms of online marketing. I love helping other business owners succeed.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been rather smooth. I have never been in the red. Every business has profitable months and a month each year that isn’t as good, this is hard for all business owners. Also finding good workers is extremely challenging.

We specialize in social media management and training, website and graphic design, SEO, directory listings, review generation and women’s networking groups throughout Arizona. If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
Nothing. I love the way my company started, what it is now and I am excited about what it will become in the future.
