Today we’d like to introduce you to Shyla Bassey.

Hi Shyla, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
In 2019, I took one of the Biggest Leaps of Faith by leaving my 12-year career in the banking industry. What may seem like a scary or risky move for most was an intentional and thoughtful transition for me. I remained at peace with this decision as I was being obedient in my calling to impact my community in a bigger way. 

Fast forward to January of 2020, I had just announced my new career journey in Real Estate and that I’d be adding on services to help assist families and individuals in need of improving their credit scores and finances. 

From 2020-2022, my businesses grew organically via social media. Consistency has been the name of the game as I never stopped showing up for my business. I was grateful to learn and implement critical strategies to grow a brand online and to consistently receive referrals from my content along with word-of-mouth recommendations. As of 2020 til now – the services I offer have impacted over 700 lives across the Country, plus have had the opportunity to support entrepreneurs throughout the country with understanding the power of building confidence in the service they offer and sharing that value with their respective audiences. My social media following has grown to over 14,000 on Facebook, 31,000 on TikTok, and close to 3,000 on Instagram. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I wish everything in life came easy, don’t we all! It certainly has been a journey filled with some bumps along the way. As a newer entrepreneur, the biggest obstacle along the way was training my mindset to break from the comfortability and normalcy of my previous corporate career. As a business owner, you become responsible for every aspect of your business, especially in the beginning. It was challenging to juggle wearing multiple hats, from C.E.O to Social media manager to customer support to consultant, just to name a few hats.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I would absolutely say consistency! Consistently showing up online, consistently learning my craft, consistently sharing with others about what I do, consistently feeding my mindset! I remember learning in the beginning of my journey that “Consistent Content creates credibility,” and so I kept going! I’ve been asked: How do you stay so consistent? 

And my answer was, “My vision is more powerful than my ability to be distracted!”
