Today we’d like to introduce you to Shelby Segura and Monique Smith.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
We were born into a family of three girls that were very involved with pageants, dance and everything girly. At a young age we were professional singers in a country show where we learned to do our own stage hair and makeup. After many years of helping friends with their hair and makeup for special events, we decided to start our own business. We loved the idea of having a flexible schedule so we could still raise our children while also being able to provide onsite hair and makeup for anyone and for any occasion.
Please tell us about your art.
While we are capable of achieving almost any look that someone desires for their special occasion, we specialize in making our clients feel and look beautiful whatever that means to them for their occasion. We like our clients to be involved in every decision as far as their hair and makeup is concerned so the end product is the look that they wanted to achieve.
We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Fortunately, since we are sisters in our line of work we never feel lonely because we have each other. We enjoy socializing with our clients making everybody feel special and comfortable. But we are always looking to connect with new artists through reach out on our social media for collaboration on new projects.
