Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheila Arrington.
Hi Sheila, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For over thirty years, I have worked with organizations, ministries, and nonprofits to help improve the lives of others, especially women. Because of my own personal story and in need of emotional and spiritual healing. My heart’s desire (calling) is to help other women acknowledge and experience God’s healing is available to them. Three years ago, I incorporated in the state of Arizona Sheila Arrington Ministries as a 501 C3 nonprofit. Whether it is to move beyond unmet dreams, wounds, and failures that may have interrupted or seem to have abbreviated their story, our ministry encourages and empowers women to explore and know there is so much more for them on the horizon of life.
By sharing intentional and practical biblical principles, strategies, resources, networking, and annual conferences and workshops, women can set their course, align with their WHY, and live out their story of purpose. In alignment with our mission and goals, Sheila Arrington Ministries host the Purposely Designed Conference in Arizona every April. I want to let people know that we are Purposely Designed and God has a distinctive Purpose for each of us.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I have had many setbacks and struggles along the way.
Most often for me, it was financial and timing. There was a period of time when I dealt with anxiety and depression, and this often got in the way of me making the best decision and choices. Losing hope to fulfill a dream is frightening and debilitating. I was fortunate to have good people around me and was able to address issues from my past through prayer and therapy.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Women’s Ministry I am a speaker, teacher, and minister. I specialize in helping women craft their stories by creating visions and missions that they feel called to. I am known to be an active listener, to exhort and help others share their stories.
Furthermore, I am a creative thinker and like to shine a light on women in need of support, love, and empowerment. I am most proud that I am relatable to many different age groups, people groups, and backgrounds. I think my tenacity and willingness to push past obstacles to living out my purpose and to bring others along on the journey sets me apart.
I am also in the process of finishing my book.
Throughout my manual script, I demonstrate how to combat spiritual forgetfulness and remember God’s faithfulness in every season. By cultivating a spiritual memory through building mental and physical memorials, we can remind ourselves of our encounters with God and bolster our faith that He will move again in our present circumstances. Through a humorous and personable writing style, miraculous testimonies, and insights on prayer and Scripture, I will take you on an inspiring and moving journey through different memorial stones in my life as I help you identify the life-shaping landmarks on your spiritual journey. I love to tell how God changed me from being a victim to a victor! Sheila has shared these stories on many stages throughout the country. Sheila is available to speak at your next conference or event.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I enjoyed being around people, and even though in my early years’ school was hard for me, I still loved it. I knew I wanted to be a teacher by the age of 5 I believe that my desire to be an educator grounded me.
Not only that but I was also told that as a child, I always told adults that God loved them and was watching over them. So I grew up to be an elementary teacher, and at the age of thirty, I was called into ministry.
