Meet Sharon Lehew of Robbins Brothers, The Engagement Ring Store in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Lehew.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sharon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My love for the customers started back when I was 19 years old. It was kind of a meant to be thing. What I mean by that is, I was working for a place called the Earring-Tree when my sister called and said, “I found a career I know you’d be amazing at.” You guessed it – selling engagement rings! I knew nothing about diamonds but could learn. I knew I loved talking and listening to people as well as problem solving. I enjoy a challenge. So the match was perfect. The manager of the store at the time was a phenomenal trainer and I wanted to learn everything I could.

My goal was to ensure that all customers felt that their best interest was always first and foremost and top priority. The experience for me had to be warm, engaging, educational and fun. You know, just like it’s your best friend getting married and you want every step of the journey to be unforgettable.

So fast forward about 14 years, I’ve been recruited to work for Robbins Brothers. A place where loving the customer, transparency and doing the right things are the table stakes of who we are. Yeah! I started with this wonderful company 25 years ago and feel honored to be a part of our continued growth and change. It’s a sustainable company where our customers know we are here for them.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth roads are without challenges or growth. In the 20 plus years I’ve been at Robbins Brothers, we as a company have gone through adversity such as changes in the economy. Being a part of a proactive company makes all the difference in the world. It enables us to secure the future of the company so we can be there for our customers. I’m grateful for all the struggles along the way. They made my vision clearer and my skill set sharper.

Introduced in the 1920s with an evolution that has led to the current “Engagement Ring Store” concept, Robbins Brothers is an engagement and wedding ring retail company with freestanding destination stores located in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas – Southern California – Seattle and Bellevue, Washington and Scottsdale, Arizona. Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Well that’s easy. It’s building stilts with my grandfather, brothers and sister at my grandfather’s workshop. We always had the best time.
