Meet Shannon Zsiros of Shanleefit in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shannon Zsiros.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shannon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
An Ohio girl living in the sunny desert of Scottsdale, AZ. Born to two high school sweetheart athletes, I followed in their footsteps and played softball starting at a young age and continued up to my first year of college until a back injury ended competitive sports. Proudly, I am the first in the immediate family to graduate from college, I earned an associate’s degree in Sport and Exercise Studies from Columbus State in 2008 and a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management that was started at The Ohio State University in 2009 but earned at Grand Canyon University in 2014 after I moved to the valley in the fall of 2011. Just recently I started my MBA with a focus on project management at Grand Canyon University.

In my spare time, I am a plus size clothing brand ambassador for Juicy Body Goddess, an online health and fitness coach, and I also volunteer with numerous organizations such as NOAH, Desert Mission, and Lifting Hands International.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My chronic back issues which can sometimes be very challenging when it comes time to pick, pack, and ship all of my customers’ orders.

In the summer of 2018, there were multiple burglary attempts on one of the units where the merchandise is stored. I had to close my Poshmark closet for a little more than two months while relocating the merchandise from one city to another. Hiring contractors to install shelving from floor to ceiling and re-inventorying and organizing all the merchandise.

Currently, I am a full-time Executive Assistant for a large valley based organization, full-time entrepreneur, and full-time graduate student. Sometimes it can be a little overwhelming juggling all of these tasks on a daily basis but I always get the job done. I have always been a hard worker and determined to succeed in everything that I do.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Shanleefit – what should we know?
In 2018, I received an opportunity to start a business selling authentic name brand merchandise. It has been almost two years and my Poshmark closet now has over 100k followers and several new name brands. Starting with Adidas for men, women, and kids, I now carry Nike, Calvin Klein Performance, Champion, Columbia, Dkny, Ideology, Puma, The North Face, and Under Armour exclusively for women including more plus-size options. All merchandise is brand new with tags. The majority of Adidas remains in sealed plastic from the manufacturer and the shoes in the original box with untouched tissue paper enveloping the shoes.

What’s your favorite memory from childhood?
Going to the Cleveland Browns games with my dad! He still has season tickets and whenever I’m in Ohio during a home game we still go together!
