Meet Sean Killeffer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sean Killeffer.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I was always drawing as a kid, I’d buy how to draw books from the scholastic book fair. In my teens I got into metal and hardcore music and began drawing in the style of the album covers, lots of zombies and unreadable band names. I always dug tattoos and started buying flash magazine and trying to mimic the tattoo styles. At that point I was getting tattooed and went all in on it.

I began my career in the valley and have been tattooing about 6 years. I’ve been fortunate to work next to great artists who have helped me greatly. I particularly enjoy the neotraditional and dot work styles, but do all kinds of pieces. In my free time I buy art supplies I don’t need and watch pro wrestling unapologetically.

Please tell us about your art.
I do a lot of stuff just out of dots, generally thin lines and a lot of black. My favorite stuff is kind of gothic looking, skulls and morbid things. I also like doing neotraditional pieces, lots of flowers and bigger line work.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing artists today?
Allergies and the insane rate of “family emergencies” 15 minutes before an appointment.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
My portfolio is on Instagram, @seankilleffer. You could support my work by getting a tattoo, or just hand me money because you’re feeling generous.
