Meet Savannah Hope Atencio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Hope Atencio.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I am 18 years old and ever since a young child I have been artistic and have always had a heart for creating. The moment I could, I started taking classes from Milan Art Institute. I learned so much and started creating paintings in my own unique style. There I found my voice and so much more about myself. Now I am painting a lot and sharing my story and work with the world.

Please tell us about your art.
My art is all about love and relationships between people and sometimes animals. I incorporate so much emotion and meaning into my work. Just one piece can mean a whole life experience and many times it can mean more than one life experience. I always paint hope into every piece because in every situation every circumstance there is always a hope to believe in and be thankful for. Sometimes it is so hard to see that hope, it seems like it’s not even there, it seems like someone has taken it away or it’s just impossible, but that’s where I want my art to come in. I want my art to give hope to everybody when they look at it. See their own life experience in it and see the hope that shines through. I’ve been in a lot of seemingly hopeless times in my life, grieved for a lot of loved ones in my life and I know that being shown hope through that can change everything. It’s such a powerful gift, and I’m so blessed I have the opportunity to share it with others.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
My advice for other artists, I never thought that I could but now I’ve learned I can. If you want to, then you can. If you’re an artist that paints as well then if you’re painting on canvas, paint the edges of the canvas as you go along don’t wait until the end of your process it makes it a lot easier to do it as you go, I learned that the hard way. Other then that just believe in yourself, your artwork is amazing, and it’s from your heart, and it will really mean something special to the people you share it with.
