Meet Savannah Brown of Sincerely Savannah Leigh Hair

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savannah Brown.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I have known ever since I was a little girl I’ve always wanted to do hair. After Highschool, I attended a semester of community college, and after skipping most of my classes, I knew I needed to beg my parents to let me attend beauty school where I felt I truly belonged.

I then went to Penrose Academy in Scottsdale and traveled abroad with them to Paris and London. After beauty school, I accepted a job as an assistant at La Lou Salon. I loved this salon so much that it became my home away from home, and ten years later I am still currently there renting my own chair.

This salon has been my life, and my coworkers and clients have become family to me. I got to where I am today because of dedication, passion, hardwork, and an amazing team around me. I am forever grateful for my beauty school owner, Jill Kohler for everything she has done for me and for making this career even possible for me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road trying to build my career. Some of the struggles along the way were long exhausting hours assisting and bringing in models to practice and learn on. At times I would just want to cry and give up, and would feel like I wasn’t good enough. I would spend hours on mannequin heads practicing and practicing to try and get better.

I would put my self out there and go up to total strangers and force my self to be outgoing to try and meet new people to be potential clients. It was a lot of hard work in the beginning! However, I am so incredibly grateful now for all of the struggles I had at the beginning of my career because they were great lessons and have shown me that hard work and determination can go along way and have gotten me to where I am now.

Please tell us about Sincerely Savannah Leigh Hair.
My job title is a hairstylist, but sometimes it feels like so much more than that! At times it feels like I am a therapist, sometimes a shoulder to cry on, sometimes a mentor, an artist, as well as many other things. And that is what I love about it! I enjoy doing all types of hair, but I specialize in blondes and keeping their hair healthy.

I also specialize in hair extensions. I am known for making my clients blonde & long. I am most proud of the hard work I have put into my career as well as always investing into my education and always taking new classes and keeping up on the newest trends. I would say what sets me apart from others is my honest and caring personality. I will always be 100 percent honest with my clients.

If I believe something will be damaging on my clients hair or won’t look flattering on their face shape or their skin tone I will always let them know. If their hair can’t handle something, I care more about the integrity of their hair than just trying to make money. It’s so important to me that all of my clients leave feeling beautiful and that they can go home and still feel beautiful for months.

Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years?  Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I see our industry exploding over the next 5-10 years. Social media has been such an awesome tool for our industry, and I only see it growing and getting bigger and bigger.
