Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Vogelsanger and Tori Randall.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Sara and Tori. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
We became best friends because we are both into music festivals, so we decided to start a business together doing something we love. These music-filled gatherings are an outlet for people to express themselves, especially through fashion. The creative elements within the industry have influenced our lives heavily, so we started Bass Couture, a blog centered around festival related content, including music, fashion, and more.
In addition to the blog, we also want to use the platform to make a difference. This is when we decided to launch biodegradable glitter as our first eco-friendly product.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Originally, getting things off the ground was tough for the both of us. We were both going to school at ASU full time in addition to working part-time jobs to pay the bills. It was a struggle finding time to dedicate to this project, but when you’re this passionate about something you seem to always find a way.
Now, we’re both graduated and have recently launched our online shop in addition to selling glitter at local events.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
As Bass Couture, we specialize in being extra. We’re known for always going above and beyond with our outfits at every event. Bass Couture is one of the few companies in the United States that sells biodegradable glitter. We’re proud to promote sustainability in an industry where people may not be as consciously aware of their carbon footprint as they should be.
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, we were both into the same things. It’s crazy looking back and realizing how much we had in common before we even met. Music has always been a big part of our lives. As teenagers, we attended the same concerts, had the same style, and shared many of the same experiences. We were wild ones, we’ll just say that.
