Meet Sandra Barkasy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sandra Barkasy.

Hi Sandra, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Barkasy Creations after my husband passed away. My husband was always my biggest supporter. No matter what I tried to do or even how well I did it, he was always in my corner cheering me on. After he passed away, I had difficulties figuring out how to continue. When I started making the trees, I had purpose again.

Since starting Barkasy Creations in January 2022, I have had the honor of being able to employ some of my family part-time. Barkasy Creations is a family owned/run business. I personally mine for the milky quartz that is used on the bottom of the trees. These milky quartz come from the Arizona desert.

Before my husband passed, we owned Tactical Time AZ. For this company, my husband and I made the bullet clocks together as a team. I enjoyed working with him on the projects we created. He would have wanted me to continue with our dreams of making the clocks. So, with that in mind, I am continuing on with our dream and adding the clocks to Barkasy Creations.

I know that he is smiling down at the business I have created, the healing that the trees provide, not only to myself, but to others, and that I am continuing on with our dream of creating a business.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Building a business has not been a smooth road. Trying to manage a business and make the inventory on my own became nearly impossible. I worked 18-hour days, 7 days a week. I didn’t have time to spend with my daughter.

I ran into suppliers out of the supplies I needed to create my product, supplies coming later than scheduled, and difficulty finding reputable suppliers.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Barkasy Creations specializes in creating healing (gem) stone trees.

The trees we create are made using milky white quartz, which we mine for from the Arizona desert, as the base and natural semi-precious stones/crystals as the leaves. We hand-twist each branch and twine them together to make the trunk. We add a tag to each tree that explains the properties of each stone/crystal.
