Thank you so much for sitting down with us again. For folks who might have missed our initial interview, can you start by briefly introducing Samuel?
Samuel Oppong is an Actor, Producer, Sport Broadcaster, CEO, Speaker, Coach, Trainer, Investor, and Philanthropist. He completed his Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management and Leadership Studies at Washington State University and completed his Masters in Sport Leadership at Concordia University in Chicago. He is a 2x Forbes Under 30 Finalist (2013, 2020) and Inc 30 Under 30 Nominee as an Investor. Before becoming an actor, he spent seven years working in various sports organizations such as USA Basketball, Washington State Athletics, National Hockey League, San Francisco 49ers, National Basketball Association, and National Football League.

Let’s start deep – what is your purpose in life?
Mark Zuckerberg once stated, “The challenge for our generation is creating a world where everyone has a sense of purpose”. When it comes to finding your purpose, it is that feeling that you are a part of something bigger than yourself. The purpose is what creates true happiness. I believe the secret was to keep going and see what I can accomplish and never look back. In connection to goals and vision, Goals are individual experiences and accomplishments you strive for. A vision is the bigger picture. Your life’s vision defines who you want to be, what you want to be known for, and the set of experiences and accomplishments you aim for. Your vision helps define the goals by giving you a framework to evaluate those goals.

I am an Author, Investor, Philanthropist, and Actor. As a philanthropist, I am involved with the Boys & Girls Club, Thirst Project, Make-A-Wish Foundation, RAINN, and Pencil Promise. I love to give back whether it is doing community service or donating at events. I become an investor because I want to invest in the future of America by helping entrepreneurs to dream big, be the best versions of themselves, and help them reach their ambition. I also became an investor because entrepreneurship is what makes this country grow. I believe entrepreneurship is what makes this country produces. I choose to become an actor because I want to become a better actor, wanted to grow, connect with the audience, want to be a respected actor, enjoy the experience, and become a balance and complete actor along the way. As an author of my book “You Can Overcome Anything.” I talked about overcoming some of their own life obstacles and how “love” played an important role in their success. All those careers mean a lot to me because my entire goal is to my family proud.

So overall, Overall, I have two goals. The first goal is to make my parents and family proud. The second goal is to become a better overall person in my career and in life. I have a long way to go but this is a great start

How about your favorite food and movie?
My favorite food is Barbeque food, Lagusada with meats, pizza, wings, chicken, and Burgers. I am a carnivore. It also depends on which state I am in. My favorite movie is “Love and Basketball’ and the movie inspired me to dream of the movie industry and playing sports while growing up.

What is your favorite sport?
My favorite sport is baseball. Everyone thinks it is basketball but growing up baseball was my first love. I played Right Field before switching to a pitcher because I could not hit a baseball. Baseball taught me a lot about life and has shaped and prepared me when I have a good or bad day.

Why did you choose this career?
I grew up thinking I will be the Athletic Director or an Actor. Then things change when I believe the secret was to keep going and see what I can accomplish and never look back. I decided to be an investor because I want to invest in the future of America by helping entrepreneurs to dream big, be the best versions of themselves, and help them reach their ambition. I also became an investor because entrepreneurship is what makes this country grow. I become an Actor because I want to accomplish a lot, wanted to learn the business, become a student of the game, and wants to be a respected, balanced, unique, and confident person. I want to be a part of the movie franchise and have a longevity career. I also wrote a book called “You can overcome anything” where stories will resonate with you regardless of where you are in your life journey. By sharing my own life experiences and others, habits, and mental obstacles they had to overcome, you will grow and learn that you too Can Overcome Anything.
