Meet Samantha Champa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Champa.

Hi Samantha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve always been interested in fashion. In creating designs and being an inspiration to other creatives. I knew from a young age that working in the fashion world was my dream – my calling. I remember always telling myself in college, “I will start my brand when I graduate”, and then I graduated and there was nothing stopping me anymore from chasing my dream. I started, Drool, in February 2021 and really didn’t know where I wanted to go with it. I loved styling and creative directing but also loved designing clothes and jewelry. Friends and family helped me realize that Drool can be anything I wanted and I don’t have to always put a label on it. Essentially, Drool is everything that is in my head. Encapsulating who I am and who I want to grow to be.

I cannot be where I am today without all the support of the people that I’ve met in the Arizona fashion scene. These photographers, models, stylists, and other creatives have pushed me to produce my best. Without them, Drool would still be a dream. Drool is everything to me. I am only moving forward and only getting better with each project.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Short answer no. There have been so many times, and there still are times, when I think I am not good enough.

Where an outfit isn’t coming together like it did in my head or my designs are selling. These moments are super frustrating. And these are the moments when people usually give up, but I think the best work is done when you think you have failed. I put a lot of pressure on myself to do the best that I can. To not do the same look twice and to constantly challenge me with each new project. Being creative is hard all around but super rewarding when you get to see the end result and you can’t believe you and your friends are able to create that kind of magic.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a stylist, a creative director, and a designer, I am creative. I am not known for just one specific look or style because I love many different eras and fashion trends.

I don’t like to tie myself to one look or just say I can do one thing. I am inspired by many different aspects of my life that putting myself into a box wouldn’t do me justice. The bottom line, I want to do it all. I am most proud of myself for continuing to push and that I haven’t given up on my dream.
