Meet Sam Ogundipe of Talks with Gundie in North Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Ogundipe.

Sam, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Well, sports is who I am! I’ve played the sport of football since I was seven years old! In 2015 I was a co-host on a radio station called the ”the social hour” with two young ladies. In our segment titled ”urban rise,” we spoke about everything from sports, fashion, entertainment, etc.! So that process and ”grind” grew my interest tremendously! In 2016 I transferred to Arizona Christian University where I was on a football scholarship and I majored In communications! 2017- currently I started a segment where I interview professional athletes and entertainers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In any industry, there will be challenges! Nothing is perfect but I wouldn’t change my journey for anything! I’m still not where I want to be yet! I think the biggest challenge thus far has been getting that first real on air job! My University has blessed me with opportunities to practice and be on air to iron out the kinks and get better at my craft. Other struggles come from being in front of the camera and just not messing up god forbid lol.

Please tell us about your work.
So I would classify myself as a sports analyst & reporter! I also would add the host in there as well because I’ve done digital hosting work for the university I attended Arizona Christian.

I’m known for my interviews and being the voice and face of my segment called “Talks with Gundie”! On there you see some of my interviews with professional athletes such as John ross (bengals wide receiver), Kenan Allen ( chargers wide receiver) and JP Crawford (Seattle Mariner’s) just you name a few.

I believe what’s sets me apart is my enthusiasm, natural ability to have comfort with my subject and vise Versa, my knowledge! I’m more than proud of my growth as a reporter, and media specialist because with just in a year my growth, diversity and willingness to step out of my comfort zone.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career so far would be interviewing Kennan Allen! Not only is he one of my favorite receivers but the interview was natural, he enjoyed it and my preparation leading up to it let me know from a confidence standpoint this is what I wanted to do.
