Today we’d like to introduce you to Sage Michel.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Sage. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Sage + Gold Roots was founded on the belief that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves. With intention, acceptance of self and self-love, our lives can be as magical as we envision them to be.

Born into West Indian roots and a deep linage of healers, medicine women and spiritualist, I grew up immersed in a culture rich with natural ways of healing. I watched closely as my grandmothers, mother, and aunts crafted herbal tonics and baths that have helped and continue to help so many.

Fast forward years later, having a family of my own, I started crafting herbal blends for the mind, body and soul right in my home kitchen. For years I kept these sacred offerings close, only to be shared with my most closest friends and family. My herbal self-care blends as well as spiritual guidance have assisted those seeking to free themselves and unlearn fear based teachings. My spirit has led me here to share my magic with the world. The remedies I share have a long history as healing modalities over hundreds of years. These herbal remedies are merely here to aid and support you through your healing journey. The major key component here is YOU. Each and every one of these offerings are intentionally handcrafted with you in mind. To aid as you do the transformative work it will take to flourish beyond your wildest dreams.

Has it been a smooth road?
I would say the struggles are finding my target audience and figuring out what market works for my company here on AZ. I’ve been a vendor at many farmer’s markets, craft shows, etc. and although some have been successful, I’ve also experienced disappointments.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Sage and Gold Roots story. Tell us more about the business.
I intentionally handcraft organic herbal products for the mind, body and spirit- teas, facial serums, facial steams, foot + bath soaks, body + bath oils, meditation candles, herbal smudges, incense, feminine hygiene products, and so much more. A total wellness experience to support others on their life journey.

I’m best known for all of my products really. And that’s because I’ve received similar feedback no matter what is purchased from my shop. My customers share with me the positive vibes they experience when using my products- from the smudge sticks to healing balm.

What sets me apart from others is my experience and ancestral knowledge. My purpose is my passion so I do everything with love. Everything starts and ends with love. And that is felt.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
In the next 5-10 years, I see my business expanding of course. Expanding throughout the state, nation and worldwide. There are plans already in motion for a local store location. But it doesn’t stop there. My hope is to make healing and the self-care process more accessible and part of everyday life. Not something done once a week, month or year. But small daily rituals, day by day.
