Meet Ryan Bullock of El Sol Foods in Gilbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan Bullock.

Family Owned & Operated Ryan and his wife Marisol opened the current El Sol manufacturing facility over 13 years ago. Today, they are still a family-owned and operated business that stays true to their roots ‒ an honor to heritage and tradition.

El Sol Fresh Salsas are still hand-crafted with fresh produce using a small batch, cold process that guarantees homemade fresh authentic Mexican flavors in every bite.  El Sol’s Salsas can be found in the fresh service deli front counter, fresh deli wall or cooler case in major retailers.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There has been many struggles over the 13 years. Learning the hard way with customers, vendors and finances. But this has been an amazing experience. I have defiantly learned a lot from all of challenges and I do believe that this is why we are successful today. One of the best things I hold the highest value is having the opportunity to work hand and hand with my wife Marisol. I cannot say every day was easy but it has been a true blessing. My kids has seen this business grow from nothing to what it is today. They have had the opportunity to come and work and show there skills though out the years. As we have grown over the past few years it has been awesome to have my In-laws come in and help out. Any time when there is a challenges I always try and tell my self. I am have these challenges because we have something new to learn.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about El Sol Foods – what should we know?
El Sol fresh salsa is sold throughout the nation but more in the southwest Wal-Mart, Sams Club, Costco, Albertsons, Safeway, Frys, Bashas and many more. El Sol currently has a total of 15 flavors of salsa:
Home-Style – Mild, Medium, Hot and Fire Roasted. These are the strongest sellers
Organic – Mild, Medium and Hot
Specialty Flavors – Tomatillo, Pico De Gallo, Peach Mango, Mango Pineapple, Hot Sauce, Hatch Fire Roasted Green Chili, Fire Roasted Tomatillo and Fire Roasted Black Bean.

Failure is not ever an option.
