Meet Ryan and Brittany Powell of Eat Clean Phx in Central Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ryan and Brittany Powell.

Ryan and Brittany, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Our family had tried multiple different meal prep companies both locally and nationally and honestly, were not impressed with the food or the macros. We have two kids that also were not big fans of the meals. Given my culinary background, we decided to start to Eat Clean Phx. Our goal is to provide our customers with “clean” meals that they can be proud to not only eat themselves but also feed their family. All of our ingredients are organic, non-GMO and preservative-free. We don’t add any sugars and all of our meals are very low sodium.

We took off immediately. All of our marketing came from social media and word of mouth. People try our food and love it! We cater for meals to all lifestyles. If you’re trying to gain weight, lose weight or just eat healthy, we can take care of you.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The biggest struggle we have faced was making the meals affordable while sustaining the profit margin we need to keep the business going. By reaching out to local farmers and butchers we were able to keep our meals as close as farm to table as possible. Buying locally is how we do our part in helping the Arizona economy.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Eat Clean Phx specializes in “ready to eat” pre-made meals. There is no chopping up ingredients or cooking required. Just pop them in the microwave for two minutes and dinner is ready. As a company, we are most proud of our ability to give back to the community. Whether it’s buying locally sourced ingredients or regularly bringing meals to homeless shelters for those in need we are always looking for new ways to give back.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up in Phoenix, with three sisters and a single mom we did not have the most balanced diet. I have always been into competitive sports and at the age of 18 decided that I was going to live a healthy lifestyle.
