Hi Ruzanna, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My journey began in Kyiv, Ukraine, during the Soviet Union era, where I was born and raised speaking Russian. My parents divorced when I was 5, but having my Armenian father nearby always provided a sense of security, especially as my mother’s side of the family was Jewish. Being Jewish in Ukraine never felt safe, although I couldn’t fully grasp this at such a young age. When I was 6, my mother made the difficult decision to apply for our immigration to the United States to secure my future. At that time, the United States had opened its borders to Jewish refugees from countries facing religious persecution. At age 7, I left with my mother and maternal grandparents in pursuit of a life of freedom, not knowing it would be the last time I would see my father.

Our journey to the United States was long and complex, taking us through Vienna, Austria, and Rome, Italy, as we awaited entry into America. With a prolonged visa process, each new country demanded adjustments, and as a young child, adapting to unfamiliar places without speaking the local language was challenging. This journey delayed my schooling until we finally reached Chicago, intensifying a sense of isolation that turned me inward. Books and my imagination became my refuge, allowing me to explore mystical worlds that felt as familiar as reality. This solitude sparked my lifelong fascination with spirituality and the mysteries of life, planting seeds that would eventually grow into a profound journey.

As I reached adulthood, practicality took precedence, and I pursued a career in finance and business, starting in auditing and eventually working on strategic initiatives for a global company. In my mid-30s, I reached a turning point. Struggling with intense anxiety and eager to heal without medication, I turned to Reiki at a friend’s suggestion—a decision that changed everything. Reiki brought newfound clarity, resilience, and the strength to establish healthier boundaries. I began releasing old patterns and ultimately made the bold move from Chicago to Arizona, seeking a life that felt more aligned with my true authentic self—a choice that set me apart from my family’s path.

Encouraged by my Reiki practitioner, I trained in Usui Reiki, balancing my corporate role with this transformative journey. My intuition and psychic abilities deepened, and I embraced holistic practices, dedicating myself to meditation and an intentional lifestyle. After completing my training as a Holy Fire Reiki Master, followed by certification as a Karuna Reiki Master in 2020, I felt ready to share my journey with others.

In 2020, I founded Solar Soul Energy Healing in Arizona. The name “Solar Soul” came to me in a meditation, symbolizing my work with clients through the Solar Plexus, the center of personal power, identity, and self-confidence. In my practice, I guide clients to release emotional burdens, reconnect with themselves, and reclaim their inner strength. Today, I am honored to support others in confidently stepping into their own journeys, helping them live authentically and free from the limitations of the past.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My journey was marked by deep challenges that profoundly shaped me. From an early age, I experienced the pain of family separation, an underlying sense of insecurity, and the uncertainty of a long immigration process. Moving through multiple countries and adapting to new languages disrupted my education and heightened my sense of isolation. These experiences turned me inward, sparking a reliance on imagination and inner resilience that would guide my future path.

In adulthood, I encountered new challenges that led me to seek a more authentic life. Intense anxiety pushed me toward alternative healing and ultimately introduced me to Reiki—a discovery that transformed my life, teaching me resilience and the importance of healthy boundaries. Embracing a path true to my values, I chose to step away from family expectations and moved to Arizona to pursue holistic practices and spiritual growth.

Building a healing business brought its own challenges, especially in a crowded market where many promise quick transformations on social media. I knew, however, that my practice differed profoundly. My focus is on authenticity and guiding clients to feel fully seen as they are, not as an idealized future self. This commitment to genuine connection shapes everything I offer.
