Meet Royalé Michael

Today we’d like to introduce you to Royalé Michael.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Royale. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
It all started after I graduated high school. I graduated high school out of Huntley, IL but I grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan & Detroit Michigan. After graduating, I had to move back to my hometown, Ypsilanti, where I dealt with the trials of being sad and finding who I truly wanted to be. After moving back home, there would be days that I would cry and wonder what was next for my life because I hadn’t found my purpose yet. What made it worse is that I had lost a couple close people to me that same year that I moved back home and this caused me to question the true meaning of life.

I started to wonder who I would become in this world that seemed so dark to me, “who am I” is what I would say to myself. I didn’t let anyone know about my feelings because I was never an open person with my feelings. This led to me picking up a notebook, where I would write my thoughts and experiences down while also writing down the person that I wanted to become. This introduced me to the art form of poetry which also introduced me to the art form of rapping. I would write line after line night after night until I realized who I wanted to become in this world. It was then when I figured out that I wanted to become someone who could inspire and influence the world by using poetry.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road was smooth at first. When I first started as an artist I was surrounded by all of these other creatives that I looked up to in my hometown of Ypsilanti. (which has just been named one of the top cities for musicians/artists)

There was so much creativity around me which left me inspire show after show and I would see if I could do the same thing as them if not better. They made making music so much fun and stress relieving until I realized that it was so much more music. The business side of music and actually getting your foot in the door has to be the toughest part. You have to constantly stay on top of your game and actually be serious about your craft to get your name above the masses.

After realizing this, I decided to step up my game and it still is the toughest mission in the world to build your name among the greats. Obstacles I’ve faced have included: depression, false promises from fake investors, struggling financially because of music investments, gaining real support. Being an artist is the best part about the journey until you realize that it is way more to just creating in this world. You have to learn the ins and outs of everything about the music industry/entertainment industry.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
I am my own business. I am Royalé Michael, an artist that specializes in poetry and rapping/lyricism. I am known for the songs that I have released in the span of my career and I am known for my energy while performing these songs on stage. My drive and determination sets me apart from everyone else. I love creating things that will make a big impact for not only myself but for others as well.

I have a passion for making music and writing poetry. Whenever I need to create an album or perform at a show/festival I’m always prepared and I always make sure that I handle my business. Every goal that I set I make sure that I get done.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
To have my name as a household name among the greatest Hip Hop artists of all generations. I’m looking forward to owning some businesses, such as a clothing line and a recording studio/company. I am also looking forward to investing in other things as well such as restaurants and real estate as well.
