Meet Ronny Cash of RonnyCashLife in South Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronny Cash.

Ronny, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I am an artist in every sense of the word. I come from a music background and have been creating music since I was a child. I have been drawing ever since I could hold a crayon and crafted that talent drawing lots of Spiderman. I’ve always been a visual person and loved cinema and animation along with the music. After high school, I went on to go to The Art Institute of Phoenix where I would graduate with honors and a bachelor’s degree in Visual Effects and Motion Graphics. I figured if I can learn and craft the visual aspect of things and pair that with my music, all the ideas in my head have the chance to see the outside world. I’ve always been drawing and always had a love for the art of tattooing so after I graduated I decided it was the perfect time to now craft that loves into a skill. I’ve been tattooing for a year while continuing to create and drop music projects such as my album ‘Spook’ that was released at the beginning of the year.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Is it ever? haha. No. Every artist no matter what capacity of art it is goes through their tough times. It could be creative blocks that make you feel useless. It could be self-doubt that tells you that this cant happens for you. It could be a lack of support from family and those around you. Luckily, I surround myself with likeminded people that support me but those other things I’ve definitely gone through and more.

In 2017, I lost a hard drive full of years and years of work. Music. Videos. School-work. Everything. I felt like I lost my life. Everything that I was working on until that point had been lost. With no backup. I went through a period where I didn’t know what to do. But was able to get back into my bag and create again. That was a tough time but it taught me a few things like BACK UP YOUR WORK.

Please tell us about your art.
I draw, paint, do graphic design, am visual effects and motion graphics artist, producer, singer, rapper, and the tattoo artist. I am an all around artist.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role
God deserves the credit. He is the source in which I create so without him I am without everything. My family plays a role. My dad is a musician and has been his whole life so I picked up a lot of different things watching him. He actually would not teach me how to play the piano e figured if I wanted to learn I would. And I did. My mom is a talented singer and sang behind many different acts when they would come into town like Jamie Foxx and Patti LaBelle. All of my siblings are all creatives and very close and supportive of me. My best friends are the best. They support and push me to be the best me I can be. I’ve had a 16+ year friendship with my best friend Raven Gibson, owner of Legendary Rootz. Throughout the whole friendship, we’ve helped each other grow. I’ve been fortunate to meet a lot of cool people who genuinely believe in me and want to see me do great. A friend from college Caleb Blassingame recommended me for this interview so shout out to Caleb.
