Meet Ronald Bell of AZ’s Premier in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronald Bell.

Ronald, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my career as a writer. I’ve been writing poetry since the age of twelve. I took a liking to it after hearing The End by the sixties rock group the Doors. I wrote throughout my life while working several odd jobs before publishing my first of eight poetry collections at the age of 35. I rode that train for awhile, but poetry only gets you so far.

While marketing my works, however, I learned about website building and social media. My first website was one geared towards furthering the dying genre of poetry and my Twitter feed one that others I’m sure viewed as a pretentious- boasting platform as I definitely tried to paint a picture of success that was not necessarily a true depiction. This was a tactic I had learned from friends of mine in marketing. “People like to surround themselves with success.” I was told by a friend and magazine publisher who has since passed.

To make the long short- the poetry ran its course, the website transformed into a digital travel magazine for the state I love and call home, the books into a blog post and the rest is history.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
To say the road was bumpy would be a gross understatement. Gave up a decent paying job to focus on my writing and in the end lost more than my income as the family began to question my sanity and my ability to raise my three children. I fought through it all despite- and after legal battles with DCS, losing houses and almost my mind, I find myself (with the help of my lifelong best friends mother) on my own two feet with my children at my side.

Please tell us about AZ’s Premier.
I have always been proud of Arizona- and I never liked the way in which others on the outside seemed to view my beloved state. I knew I wanted to get into marketing, so why not do it for the betterment of good old AZ. I wanted to create an advertising portal for the best of AZ. To keep the best in place right where it belongs. To paint a true picture of how beautiful and fun this state really is.

I wanted to create an informative site that was easy to navigate, fun and easy on the eyes that showed the states true beauty. I think we’ve done that???

We use moving artistry and auto-play videos to make learning about the best venues in Arizona easy and fun. We also write blog pieces about some of the venues that we hold dearest at AZ’s Premier.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to do it all again I would change nothing. The struggles I faced and challenges I have overcome have all culminated into the man I am today- and I like this guy!
