Meet Robyn Moore of Mack Media Relations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robyn Moore.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Robyn. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started Mack Media Relations in May 2016. Prior to launching my business, I had worked for a number of top agencies in Phoenix and Los Angeles where I represented and managed local and national brands in a bunch of different industries. This really gave me the experience I needed to go on my own.

I also worked in the media for a year which gave me valuable experience from the other side of the fence. In March 2016, I had a short break in my career where I was questioning what to do next. It was scary, but that’s when I took the chance to start my own PR firm.

Fast forward to today, I wouldn’t trade where I am at in my career for anything. I get to work with so many different types of businesses and people that constantly challenge me. It’s all about who you know in this crazy world, and that’s what has led me to my position today.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I have switched gears multiple times in my career so I know from experience how many curve balls life can throw your way. The PR world is a competitive one, to begin with.

In March 2015, I had a unique career opportunity to leave the PR industry and to work as a morning show radio personality for a local iHeartRadio station. I, of course, jumped at it without any experience in radio. It was a dream job (at the time). I learned a lot about myself, got to meet some amazing people and get firsthand media experience which is valuable in my position today.

Although, it wasn’t the right fit for me and the station, I am beyond thankful for that opportunity because it led me to where I am today. I had never been “let go” from a position before so having experienced that low was an important moment in my life. As crazy as it sounds, it motivated me to come out on top.

With my current position, I constantly find challenges in my career. It’s not always easy to be your own boss, but I strive to do my best every day and be authentic. It’s important to remember life will always bring highs and lows. You just have to stay positive, be patient and have faith that it will all work out like it should.

Please tell us about Mack Media Relations.
Mack Media Relations is a boutique publicity firm with a decade of experience in brand awareness for startups, large corporations and everything in between. I build and maintain relationships with the media to secure desirable television, magazine, newspaper, radio and online coverage for local businesses. I believe in quality over quantity when it comes to earned media exposure and always being relevant! That is key to building a business.

Having previously worked in the media, I provide great insight on both sides of the industry and an integrated approach to PR campaigns. My business is unique in that I do it all. I want to be the one pitching your brand to media. I see it through and stand next to my clients when they are being interviewed. I live and breathe for my clients, and they know it.

Over the past two and a half years, I have had the opportunity to work and represent some of the best local businesses in the Valley, and I am beyond thankful for having these individuals believe in me to get the job done.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I don’t think there is anything I would have done differently in my career if I had the chance to start over. I look back and see every defining moment. I never would have landed a job on the radio had I not worked at the first PR agency out of college. I never would have landed one of my current clients had I not worked on radio. Life is crazy that way!

I mentioned it before but its all about who you know and over the years, I’ve taken value in networking and maintaining those relationships. If anything, I might have networked more so early on in my career. Overall, I love where I am at and wouldn’t change it for anything.
