Today we’d like to introduce you to Robin Grossman.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am where I am today because of my family. My husband Russell, and two kids Jaden (16) Dylan (12) teach me everyday how to become a better person and wake up every morning and smile. I spent my first 18yrs in New York and moved out to Arizona to attend ASU. After meeting Russell in 1997, he had already started a business with his brother and throughout the years has inspired me to become an entrepreneur.
I have dabbed in many fun businesses but what I am doing today has been the most rewarding. Developing CityTrendShop has been such an amazing experience. It all started Sept 2018 when my first customer bought a necklace that I had designed right off my neck. I knew at that moment that I had to continue with a jewelry line that was edgy, affordable and unique. But what makes me stand out is the customer service I offer. I love to get to know who I am creating a piece for.
I am very lucky to already have had amazing opportunities displaying my jewelry at Phx Fashion Week, Bentley Polo Championships, Barrett Jackson among other small venues around town. I also have a showroom at my residence where I offer a one on one experience. Having fun and laughing is what makes my day!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I think anyone who says their new business has been a smooth road is not telling the truth – LOLStarting a new business always has its challenges.
Planning budgets, marketing and finding what works best in all aspects never comes easy. But what does make a successful business is learning from what has not worked and growing from there? I never look at mishaps as failures but as building blocks to make tomorrow a better day!

Right now, I am running my business by myself. I have a marketing company that helps me with website and social media because I missed the tech era. My favorite part of the business is when I am traveling and buying new and unique pieces. I love going back to New York – where my ADD and creativity explodes!!!
My personality sets me apart from most where I don’t take anything too serious. I am an extremely outgoing person who strives on customer service and making people feel good. When someone calls the number on my cards, website, and brochures, they get ME – not a computerized robot!
Where do you see your industry going over the next 5-10 years? Any big shifts, changes, trends, etc?
I can’t wait to see what is out there over the next 5-10 yrs in the jewelry industry. Will always have my eyes open for bigger ideas!
