Today we’d like to introduce you to Rissa Vibes.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I’ve always been sort of a hybrid. I was born in the ‘hood’ but raised in the ‘suburbs’, innocent but never naive, street smart and book smart, the first in my immediate family to graduate from College, and even now, I’m a spiritualist who still finds much of her inspiration from gritty truths.
Growing up biracial in America has always been a part of my story as well, tip toeing between racial lines laid out for me from societal and peer pressure to pick a side and be something acceptable, never knowing how to please everyone and still find myself. Not many people I could talk to who understood back then so I found myself through processing it all through words and song.
It has always been this way for me and through much growth and wisdom from dabbling in the duality of my Gemini nature, facing unfathomable adversity and rising above with my own self-reflection, I can now say, I really know myself and I understand why I had to learn what I did, so that I can share it with people who are searching for someone they can relate to and find inspiration from, someone who has been in or around what they have and can say, ‘If I made it, so can you.’
My mission now is to build a global movement of love and light to spread across the world, specifically the music industry and mass media society so I may contribute to a rising collective of artists that can truly use their voice for uplifting humanity.
I have also grown in my spiritual journey as an intuitive and spiritual guide for those seeking enlightenment, I am grateful to share both my intuitive gifts and counseling experience through inspirational videos and vlogs on my YouTube Channel.

Please tell us about your art.
My art is a translation of the energy I come in contact with as an individual as well as what I perceive from a big picture perspective for the collective. It is the way I absorb information and communicate it, we all do this, my art just happens to come in the form of music, media (video/photo) and intuitive service.
I write poems & songs, sing in a band and as a solo artist, I create vibrant visuals with my own media company, and provide intuitive readings for those who want to connect to their past lives, guardian angels, and heightened spiritual consciousness! My message in all of my art is Love, Unconditional. Energetic expression free of fear, doubt or judgment. I want people to be inspired to love themselves and others, and all of the experiences in their lives with an appreciation for all that can be learned from the divine path each of us are on.
What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I think that it has gotten easier for artists to put themselves out there and market themselves but it has also gotten harder for integritous artists to stand out and be recognized for authentic art and talent. There is so much fake popularity with social media that it causes artists with organic followings and honest ambition to get overlooked if they don’t play into the same phony follower gimmicks. I think that cities like yours can help by authentically sharing, uplifting and supporting the artists you truly believe in, the ones who have a message you can stand behind and who are doing things that aren’t just helping them gain success but artists who are doing something for the community too and who are helping more light enter this world.
How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
