Today we’d like to introduce you to Regi Dela Cruz.

Regi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My detailing business actually came by surprise. I unfortunately was let go as a 911 Dispatcher because of the COVID-19 Mandate. I was left with payments on my Camaro and other bills so I needed to do what I could to bring in some money. One day I was on TikTok seeing car detailing videos and with my last paycheck I bought detailing equipment and sold all my Jordan’s and Nikes to give me some start up. I practiced washing, buff and waxing, shampooing my Camaro and my dads cars in the driveway and people the same day started noticing. Neighbors asking “how much” “come do mine next” “is this your business” it was the most obvious sign.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being new to the car detailing business I was fortunate to get a lot of support from my previous employers and support on social media just by sharing my information to book. A few of those who helped me along the way was Salt River Police and Fire Department, Johnny Bernal (Trainer) , MizzAmber (Social Media Influencer), Nkeal Harry (NFL Player), Radio Suzette & Payton Whitmore (104.7), Cristian Zendejas (Tempetoesss Owner), Luis Zendejas (Retired NFL Kicker) & Michael Battle (Battle Protection Agency Owner) and of course friends and family. Shoutout to all my wonderful amazing clients.

The only struggles I faced were realizing that workers that do labor outside don’t get enough credit, especially here in Arizona. Summer Days outside detailing were brutal but being in my shoes this is what I wanted to do to get the income I wanted. I’ve been blessed with being able to create my own schedule and with the best customers who make my career enjoyable and fun!

My business offers Car Detailing services including: Buff and Wax Scratch and Swirl Removals that gives 6-12 months protection, Interior Steam Cleaning and Shampooing on all seats, carpets and upholstery. Leather Seat Cleaning, Interior Stain Removals, Disinfecting to removal germs and keep the inside smelling fresh. Weekly, Biweekly or Monthly Maintenance Washes. With Add ons like Headlight Restoration, Engine Bay Detailing and Odor Removal.

What sets my business apart from others is that I own a Mobile business so I go to customers, at home, work, warehouses, anywhere you need me to go I’ll be there!

I’m proud about how far I’ve actually came with this business, I have a beautiful stay at home wife who has supported me from the jump (I Love You Mama) and 2 cats Baby and Figaro and my life hasn’t been better! I’m able to spend time with them whenever I want, and get them things whenever needed. Considering I started from nothing and had no knowledge in this field, I know God put this path in my life for a reason and I give him all the glory!

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was very athletic and enjoyed playing basketball. Ever since I was in 4th grade I knew this was the sport I loved the most. I played club ball for The Show, Bluestar, Inspire then attended Desert Vista HS, and moved to Hawaii where I attended Kapolei HS and graduated from Leilehua HS in 2016. That brought me back to Arizona with a scholarship to MCC where I played and majored in Criminal Justice.

I started a Streetwear clothing brand called “Baysik Clothing MMXVI” but when I lost my 911 dispatching job I didn’t have the funds to upkeep that business but it was time to let that brand go. I attended Chandler Gilbert CC and played a little there as well which is how I found the hiring position for the 911 job during a criminal justice class . After I got that job I dropped out and worked there for 2 years until being let go.
