Meet Rebecca Wierman

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Wierman.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Prior to working in the cannabis industry, I was working as a Paralegal and Office Manager at a boutique law firm. The goal was to go to law school and become a lawyer. It wasn’t until I sat down to take the LSAT I knew I was making a big mistake. I spent the next few months trying to figure out “what I wanted to be when I grew up” and where I was going to find my place in corporate America. The one thing I did know was that I wanted to turn my passion for plant and natural medicine into a career– not knowing where to turn or how to accomplish this, I did what any other millennial would do and created an Instagram account.

I began posting pictures to my account, @thecannawitch, of different cannabis products and began meeting wonderful people in the cannabis industry. Shortly after I was contacted by Sublime Brands to create some sponsored content. A couple of months after a successful social campaign I began working for the company full-time as their Brand Ambassador. My position with Sublime has allowed me to find my place in corporate America while staying true to myself. I manifested my dream job and I am eternally grateful!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
My family wasn’t too keen about me posting pictures of myself smoking cannabis on the internet. However, with some education, my family came around and are my biggest supporters.

What I truly struggled with was the negative self-talk I was putting myself through. I got really in my head and had to take a step back to think about if I even wanted to continue this IG account. I’m so grateful I did because if I hadn’t, my life would be completely different. I’ve met the most beautiful people through this cannabis Instagram community!

As The CannaWitch, I share my life through a series of images and captions about my spiritual awakening, my favorite plant and natural medicine, my struggles and successes, as well as my work-life balance.

As Sublime’s Brand Ambassador, I work with our Sales Director to build relationships with our house accounts, as well as to conduct our vendor educations, training, and attend public appearances on behalf of the company.
