Meet Rebecca Nguyen

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rebecca Nguyen.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Modeling, photography and videography have all become parts of my day to day routine. I started as a motorsports photographer 8 years ago, then added fashion modeling 6 years ago and finally videography came into the picture 6 months ago.

I always aspired to be an artist. Being creative was my happiness. It never mattered what subject or industry it was in, but as long as I had a chance to be creative I wouldn’t complain. The first time I picked up a camera it wasn’t even mine. A friend had just gotten one and let me play around with it once in a while. I shot a few automotive events and fell in love. Not only could I cater to my creative side, but also my sentimental side. I could creatively capture any fleeting moment I wanted to.

After a few years I took a chance and stood in front of the camera to help a friend branch out of the automotive photography and into portrait photography. My confidence in my physical looks was severely lacking at the time but after seeing the opportunity I had to be able to portray the beautiful woman I wanted to be, I had to pursue it. Fashion modeling has become such an empowering outlet for myself and those around me. I’ve found myself wanting to boost the morale of those around me and am seeking for opportunities to give them that same feeling of empowerment.

I’m now offering workshops for aspiring models and photographers! (More information on my website) The first one is happening on August 11th 2018 with the help of a few photographers who are aspiring to support our creative community here in Phoenix as well.

Videography has been a recent development. I am a Social Media Marketing Coordinator full time, and video production needs are at an all-time high. After being let down by so many flakey videographers I ended up throwing in the towel and saying “F it, I’ll do it myself”. I ended up changing up my entire collection of camera gear to be able to cater to my photography and videography needs. Since then I’ve worked with a few celebrities, local artists and product companies.

To sum it up, I’m a model, photographer, videographer and Social Media guru!

Please tell us about your art.
My art is all over the place, but the fundamentals are all the same: create with passion for yourself and aspire to inspire.

I want to help people remember that it’s important to do things for yourself. To seek success because it is what fulfills you. To create to satisfy the heart. When you take the time to do things for yourself, you’ll learn more about yourself which will lead you down a very bright road of self-development.

Through my modeling I want to portray not only the best version of myself, but the message that the photographer and fellow creatives want to portray. We all want to have something we can stand behind and also leave behind to inspire the next generation.

Through my photography and videography, I want to capture the essence of that moment, person and or thing to say thanks for the inspiration it/he/she has given me.

We often hear from artists that being an artist can be lonely. Any advice for those looking to connect with other artists?
Be around positive influences and likeminded individuals. An artist creates better in a creative environment, so go out and work with other creatives!
