Meet Raven McNeal of Heal Me Fit in North Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Raven McNeal.

Raven, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Heal Me Fit was birth out of my car accident. A lady re-ended me and hurt my neck and back. I begin to have on-going pain and immediately signed up for physical therapy and chiropractic care sessions. After 16 weeks, I was discharged from physical therapy but still experiencing pain daily. Every time I asked my doctors when should I expect to feel better, no one knew the answer.

I then decided that I wanted to do something about this issue. Therefore, I created Heal Me Fit. This app allows patients to track one’s at-home exercise program progress and provide their physical therapist/chiropractor with this data. The patient can send them a 3D image of them completing the exercise to review before their next in-office visit. As a patient, I want to know how much time I will need to commit to experiencing healing from an injury. I need my doctors to all be on the same page by viewing the data and providing me with HEM updates. Physical Therapist needs to retain patients through to the end of their prescribed program. It’s a win, win for both the patient and the physical therapist.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been easy creating a mobile application from scratch. As a minority female in the tech space, it has taken a while for people to take me seriously and it’s challenging to secure funding to continue the development of the technology. The idea has distinct components, but we are aware that we are in a very competitive space. Moving from Chicago to Phoenix has been a challenge because I had a community and support system back home.

I’ve now had to build that here in Phoenix. I appreciate the support that I have received as a participant of Seed Spot. In the beginning, I did not have much of a tech background, so I had to seek out knowledge and learn from people who understood how to build the technology. I have invested a lot in myself through the process to learn, network and pursue this idea. The business plan is solid and was created through the Joseph Business School. The marketing plan refined through my experience and mentors and, most importantly my ability to pitch my product perfected in Seed Spot.

Heal Me Fit – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
The company is a mobile application that helps patients to track, train and share their home exercising progress. The physical therapist can engage with their patients through the app. Heal Me Fit shares with the patient’s foods and nutrition recommendations that will help a patient to heal. Most importantly, our app will provide the doctor with a 3D image to ensure that the patient is completing they’re at home exercises correctly to prevent further injury.

As for Raven McNeal, she is a sales and marketing professional with over 16 years of experience. I graduated from Michigan State University and have my M.B.A. from Argosy University. I am know for being a go-getter, a consultant to my close friends and family. I am a first-generation college student who has managed to beat the odds to become a success story. Helping people, exercising, volunteering and taking care of my fur baby Leo Bear is what you can find me doing on any given day.

As a company, Heal Me Fit is most proud of launching our MVP on apple and google play. We are excited to begin working with a physical therapist and chiropractor to test and provide us with feedback on our product. I Raven McNeal will preserver ensuring success and I am unique in my strategic approach to WIN with integrity. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career was being the #1 sales representative in Coca-Cola’s on-premise division for 13 weeks. My proudest leadership moment was when I coached, trained and developed my newly hired rep to close 500K cash sales in 90 days, becoming the largest sale sold in inside sales. Taking the team, I inherited from the bottom to become the #1 team in inside sales.
