Meet Ramon Bostic of BOSTIC Strength & Conditioning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Bostic.

Hi Ramon, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I was always the guy in the gym, that helped people with their exercises. After college, I did not want to do what I studied as a career, so being a trainer was a natural progression. Combining that with the fact that I never wanted a career where I didn’t make a difference in people’s lives, was a natural fit for me.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I moved here from San Francisco, where had a solid business.

I had to start from scratch, not knowing anybody in the area. In many ways, the pandemic saved my business, as I was already in the planning stages of taking on virtual clients. During the pandemic, for obvious reasons, people were much more open to hiring a virtual trainer. I was able to turn a hardship for most people, into a thriving opportunity.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about BOSTIC Strength & Conditioning?
I have been in the fitness industry for almost 30 years. Up until relocating to the Phoenix area, most of my clientele was in Southern and Northern California. My training style complements what I feel a client most needs. I don’t stick to one tool, as I do believe in training through a range of motion. I don’t stick to set exercises unless they allow the body to move through a movement pattern that will help your body grow.

In recent years, I have shifted my personal education from adding more fitness tools to understanding how people respond to movement. Having a client do a certain set of exercises, is not as beneficial as understanding how this movement pattern can help you in life as well.

I have discovered that the way people approach exercise is often how they approach life. I am much more concerned with how your time with me will benefit your regular life when you are not with me.

What matters most to you?
I am far more concerned with how you look and feel six years from now than I am with how you look and feel in six months. Anybody can get in shape for the short term, but I want to see how your life has evolved six years from now.

I want to know that your time with me helped to get that dream job or improved relations with the people around you. Because I do believe the tools you learn with me, have a direct correlation with your personal environment, not in the gym.
