Meet Rami Kalla of Point in Time Studios in Tempe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rami Kalla.

Rami, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My passion for film began at a young age when my Dad brought home a brand new VHS camera. At only ten years old, I gravitated to it immediately and began producing short films with family and friends.

Twelve years later, I had a coveted marketing job at General Mills. Even though I had a great job, I knew that I wasn’t living my true purpose. So, in March of 2002, I opened Point in Time Studios and never looked back!

The last 17 years have been an amazing adventure. I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of incredible clients from small to large companies, including Parker & Sons, Ford, McDonald’s, PetSmart and many more!

Now, I can wholeheartedly say that I have my dream job.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Since it’s founding, Point in Time Studios has grown tremendously and is thriving, but there was a time, when the economy crashed in 2010 and the recession hit, that the company struggled. When the economy dips, usually the first thing that companies cut to save money is the marketing budget and, with that, their marketing videos. Companies were watching their budgets very closely during the recession, but the company made it through. When companies slowly started investing more money in their marketing, the calls started rolling in, and we have been expanding ever since!

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Point in Time Studios story. Tell us more about the business.
Point in Time Studios specializes in high-end video, 3D animation, and virtual reality. We got into the virtual reality industry a few years ago and have been at the forefront of this developing market, becoming a leader in VR video. We have created some awesome virtual experiences, ranging from interactive real estate tours to immersive worlds.

We pride ourselves on going above and beyond a client’s expectations and finding creative solutions to make sure we always give the client the best version of what they want. It’s one thing to say that you’ll go above and beyond; it’s another to practice it.

That is what sets us apart, great work that is always exceeding expectations. We are not happy unless our clients are delighted. That is our #1 priority.

So, what should we be on the lookout for, what’s next in store for you?
We have big plans for expansion!

We recently flew to London to exhibit our new virtual reality real estate experience. The trip’s purpose was to help increase the number of pre-orders for a luxury housing development in Spain. The development caters to Londoners who want to escape the typical London weather. We immersed potential buyers into a complete virtual experience, transporting them into their Spanish getaway. Our VR experience was a huge success, resulting in a large number of pre-orders and millions in revenue for the developer.

While in London, we made some great real estate connections, and we plan on expanding our business into various European markets!

Not only is virtual reality taking off, but augmented reality is as well. We have begun offering AR services to clients who want an added layer of impact in their marketing, sales pitches, and training materials.

This business growth means that we are also growing our team. We are hiring more Editors and 3D Artists to accommodate the influx of VR, AR, and 3D project requests.
