Meet Rachel Wright

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Wright.

Rachel, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Growing up in central Illinois soccer was my life. I competed at the highest level and hit my ultimate dream of receiving a soccer scholarship at a Division One school. I graduated from Murray State University with honors but was not fully in love with my major. I was supposed to become a physical therapist however when I got my acceptance it just did not feel right. That year my dad passed away suddenly from a heart attack and my life was flipped upside down. He was healthy, he worked out, he ate relatively clean, but stress is a silent killer. So, I had to re-evaluate my life.

A year later I moved to Phoenix. I am a self proclaimed lizard and I knew the sun and heat would provide a happy environment. I fell in love with the city, especially being from a smaller town. The food, the hiking, the yoga classes, I knew this was where I was supposed to be. However, my career still was not completely fulfilling. I was a personal trainer and a certified health coach. I love health and wellness, I still do, I think that is the athlete in me, but I already lived where is was my whole world and it did not fill my whole spark. I found myself constantly looking at real estate websites and watching the market. I was calling my mom and asking her a million questions about her time investing back in Detroit 40 years ago, listening to podcasts and getting obtaining any knowledge I could about real estate. Finally, I took the plunge to get my real estate license in 2019. Now, my spark is on fire.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Absolutely not, real estate is expensive to start and you are not making any money at the beginning. It’s a constant battle of what to do today and how can I bring in business.

Please tell us about your business.
I am a REALTOR® with Realty One Group. I love coaching my clients on the home buying or selling process. I am most proud of the connections and relationships I have developed along the way.

Who deserves credit?
My biggest advocate is my partner, Ryan, he believes I can do anything. My brokerage has the best training and continues to provide me with the best resources of this ever changing industry. My mother, who has shown me strength and resilience.
