Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Flansburg.

Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, you could tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve had a passion for beauty ever since I was young! My junior and senior year of high school, I had the opportunity to attend Cosmetology school for half days to earn my license as well as gain high school credits. After about 2 and a half years, I graduated with my Cosmetology License and earned my Bachelor’s in Business Management. After graduating, getting married, and moving states, I started my beauty business and have been in love ever since! Since starting my business about 6 years ago, I have found my specialty in enhancing natural beauty for my lovely bridal makeup clients. I am constantly honored and humbled to be a part of my client’s big day!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been bumps in the road. The major one was shortly after graduating, COVID hit, and meeting with clients in-person to apply makeup was not an option for a while. I had to pivot and add virtual lessons to my services. I continue to offer virtual lessons and am currently working on a revamp and elevation for this service. I am thankful that this struggle led to something largely beneficial for my business!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might need to become more familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a professional makeup artist that specializes in enhancing natural beauty! I do bridal, special events, and photo shoot makeup, although I am most proud of my bridal makeup skills. My work translates perfectly in photos and in person! I can do a glam look if that is what the client wants, but I strive to make my clients feel comfortable and like themselves while in a full face of makeup.
