Today we’d like to introduce you to Prasanna Polite.
Prasanna, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Growing up, my parents placed me in many different sports, from track to basketball to cheerleading and tennis. As I grew up, I started to fall in love with Basketball and Track. I played basketball all the way up to my Sophomore year, where I decided that my love for the track was something I could not even explain. Graduating high school and going to college with a scholarship was everything I could have dreamed of. I continued my collegiate track career, traveling from Arizona to Alabama to Texas. I obtained awards and conference rings. It was wonderful. Following my graduation in 2016, I decided to continue my track career as a post-collegiate athlete. I ran amongst some of the best track and athletes out there, earning their respect and making a name for myself. I then decided that my influence could be even greater.
I already worked at a high school and was an assistant sprint coach, why not take it a step further and obtain more certifications making me certified to assist people with their health. Some clients wanted nutrition plans others wanted a personal trainer and a quiet gym. I made a separate Instagram so that I could be able to show my workouts and I could have a one on one relationship with each and every client. Today I am a fitness influencer, making programs both through personal training and through virtual training. I have my own fitness apparel ranging from hats to fanny packs as well as training athletes from football to golf.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road has not been smooth. I have had to endure a lot as being a woman. I look younger and I am typically smaller than my clients, but once I am able to explain and show my athletic ability, I instantly win the hearts and minds of those that have doubted me. I have been told “no” when applying for fitness jobs in multiple gyms, I have had little to no one show up to my fitness classes, and people have criticized me in a very negative manner on my social media and to my face.
Please tell us about BodyByJennae.
My business is called BodyByJennae where I assist people who want to live a healthier lifestyle. It is not just about going to the gym and breaking a sweat. The goal is to be able to do your own workouts after a couple of months with my services. Being educated does not have to break the bank either, so I have designed great workout plans for everyone! Whats sets me apart from other trainers and companies is the fact that I sit with every client and go through a three-month workout plan and routine for that they know where their mindset needs to be and they understand my standpoint as a trainer.
Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
I would say I’m not lucky I am blessed. I have a great support system. My friends have bought and came to every one of my fitness and charity events and have posted my fliers all over their social medias. My family started off being my first clients, paying and all! That is purely a blessing for me!
