Meet Megan Granger of Pixie Vacations by Megan in Chandler

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Granger.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Megan. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hi!  My name is Megan Granger and I run Pixie Vacations by Megan.  I specialize in Disney travel (Disneyland, Disney World, Disney Cruise Lines, Aulani and Adventures by Disney) but can book any vacation you have been dreaming up.  I’ve had a love for traveling, especially to Disney, my whole life so to turn this into a career is a dream come true. I have been married for over 11 years and have two beautiful children.  I was a stay-at-home mom for four years and loved every minute of it. When I decided that it was time to go back to work, I wanted to make sure that I was doing something that I was passionate about.  Disney vacation planning was it!

My love for Disney started as a little girl.  Growing up on the East Coast, my family would make regular trips to Disney World.  I carried that tradition into adulthood. Since moving to Chandler about five years ago, I have taken multiple trips to Disneyland with my family and have enjoyed discovering all that Disneyland has to offer.  There is honestly no place I would rather be than on a Disney vacation with my family. I love that Disney has created a space where both adults and children can have the time of their lives!

As a vacation planner, I thoroughly enjoy the entire process – from planning all the details to hearing stories and seeing pictures as your vacation dreams come to life!  My goal is to take the stress out of the planning process and help guide you to a trip that fits your budget, your goals and your desires. My services are 100% free which means that you can save all of your money for the fun part of your trip!  No vacation is too big or too small, so please be my guest, as I plan your unforgettable Disney vacation!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would say there are always bumps in the road to get a business up and running.  The biggest obstacle so far has been to get my name out there for the world to see.  Marketing will be my top priority for 2020. I want clients to trust me with their vacation planning as I work closely with them to customize their entire vacation.  Not only will I book the hotel and get you the best price for tickets, etc., but the biggest value I can add is my ability to tailor each vacation to satisfy your specific needs, whether it be dining preferences, special needs, parks tips and tricks, etc.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I am known for my expertise with Disney.  I am able to book any vacation you desire but I’m an Authorized Disney Travel Planner.  Disney is an experience and it is fun for children and adults alike, but the process of booking a Disney vacation and planning the trip can be daunting and overwhelming.  This is where I come in! I take all the stress away and help with the booking process of the hotel and the tickets. From there, I’m available to give helpful tips to make your Disney vacation truly magical from dining recommendations to special activities to breaking down how to use the FastPass/ MaxPass in the parks.

I think what sets my business apart is that I like to tailor every vacation to be unique.  All of my quotes will be different because I listen to each of my client’s desires and hopes for their dream vacation.  I don’t just stop once I have booked your room. I find out if you need help with dinner reservations or special activities.  Bottom line, I want my clients to keep coming back year after year and to refer me to their friends and family. I will succeed in this venture because of the personal experiences that each client receives.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was a bit shy and introverted.  I loved school, gymnastics and cheerleading. I was always active in sports of many kinds and I didn’t like to sit still for too long.  I had a Type A personality growing up (organized, had a task list close by, eager to try new things, etc.).

I majored in Finance at college.  Over 10 years, I worked my way up “the ladder” to become a Senior Manager in the Treasury department for a large multi-national company with U.S. headquarters in the Boston area.  After having my first child, I knew that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. Now that my children are both school-age, I felt it was time to start working again, but only if I would be doing something that I am passionate about.  That is why I’m thrilled to be running my own travel agency business.  It’s the best of both worlds in that I get to do something that I enjoy and that I am passionate about while still being available for my children.

One thing that has changed quite a bit for me since childhood is that I’m not nearly as shy any more.  Once I became a mom, I felt like I was a part of this whole new club. I’ve loved meeting so many other families and opening up my home to make so many wonderful friendships.
