Meet Paula Leeper of Ancient Healing Arts LLC in Mesa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paula Leeper.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, A Wisdom Keeper, and a Grandmother.

I began my journey of Ancient Healing Arts over 30 years ago. In my twenties, I was called to “touch” people. Over the next few years, I spent time with this vision and discovered, herbal medicine, massage, and prayer and how those would all come together today.

I am trained in Medical rehabilitative massage, helping others with their injuries from accidents/injuries and age. In 2006, I began a journey of learning the healing art of Curanderismo. This would bring together a new way of being able to address the Spirit of another, and it has complemented my training as a licensed massage therapist. Over the next 13 years of being an apprentice, I fell in love with this Medicine Path and have been initiated as a Medicine Woman. I am a wisdom keeper of traditional medicine, I teach the traditions that I have been taught by Maestra CC and her lineage of Abuelita Casi. I carry this with a deep appreciation for the medicine.

In 2011, I received a new vision from Creator that brought me to where I am today. My path is to touch with holy reverence and help people remember that they are divine. Every day, I rise and give thanks for that vision and direction. I am a licensed massage therapist, wise woman, and educator. I am blessed to walk the earth with a vision. Walking this path is a treasure. I will pass this oral tradition to my Grandchildren and to anyone who comes to me with an open heart. Medicine is to be shared, and it is for everyone.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The question of smooth road, I have no idea what smooth is.
This path is hard, the physical work is very hard on the body. I am accountable to Creator, my Maestra, my Grandchildren, and the Community. Struggles would be advertising holistic, spiritual services.

My business is Ancient Healing Arts LLC, I specialize in medical/rehabilitative massage therapy.

I specialize in Limpias, an art of cleansing the heart, spirit, mind, and body to bring balance, this is faith-based therapy, using plant allies, herbal smoke, prayer, songs, and intuition.

I am part of a Tribe that “through remembering that we are conduits of higher sources of cosmic energy, we have faith in the ancestral methods of our abuelitas and abuelitos in relearning how to heal ourselves, each other, and our communities, by sharing this medicine with our present and future generations.” Maestra CC

What sets me apart is the ability to incorporate folk medicine, pray and science together for others to heal.

I am most proud… that I can include my GRANDCHILDREN in my spiritual practices.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was an outcast. I was not like other children. I had spiritual gifts without a guide. I could see into other worlds, and no one else could. As a child, I was intelligent and knew things about people that I quickly learned not to repeat. So, you might say I was the looker. I always questioned the intentions of words and discovered that I didn’t need anyone to intercede for me. I could talk to Creator myself. My interests were always to be a counselor or teacher.
