Meet Paul Gebhard of American Family Insurance in East Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paul Gebhard.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Paul. So, let’s start at the beginning, and we can move on from there.
As I young boy, always loved the idea of saving the day. Since flying for me left me with more bumps and bruises than I care to remember, I considered my options. Finding insurance and understanding, it’s a powerful impact on our lives; I know this was my chance to truly protect people. Over the last 20 years, I’ve educated myself to be the best advisor possible for the people who depend on me. We take a very personal approach to their personal and business finances whether it’s a home, a rental, a business. Life or even annuity protection for their retirement income protection, we make sure the insurance plan is in sync with their overall financial goals.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Life is a journey, and of course, there are bumps or detours along the way. One of the first was realizing the challenges of being a business owner, and the importance of having staff that shares your visions. Especially when it comes to customer service.

One of the most challenging issues is clarifying information people find from 3rd party sources such as the internet. Most of the information is vague or generalized to appeal to large audiences, and when you have someone make a poor decision that severely impacts them, it’s difficult to see. My mission is to take a proactive approach and help my clients avoid these mistakes altogether.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I’m an insurance advisor with a traditional customized, proactive approach to each of my clients. We educate and/or remind them that asset protection is so much more than things, it’s protecting the time invested and being sure you are not starting over from scratch. Especially but not limited to protecting their retirement. We are proud that our reputation has been built on looking out for our clients best interest, making them our priority.

One of the toughest things we see is the loss of a loved one, and when we work diligently to put a life policy in place for a family, it makes us proud when they come back to tell us how grateful they are for looking out for them. It is always a highly emotional event for all. After all, how do you impact one’s life without being involved?

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
My mother singing me songs, and just making me feel loved. It’s amazing to see how much of impact that love makes on a child’s life. The confidence instills lives on into adulthood. I miss her laugh, every time she’d laugh, well I just had to laugh along.
