Meet Patricia Federico of Mi Tierra Healing Arts and Aromatherapy in South Mountain Village

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Federico.

Patricia, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Since a very young child, I often had visions and intuitive knowing. I had the privilege to live next door to my aunt, who was one of many Community Healers, a natural healer. My personal gift of healing was innate, I also learned by example. Observing my aunt doing her healings on children and people that would come to see her for aches, pains, and spiritual rituals. It wasn’t until 1994, after experiencing a series of family traumatic events, that I opened my mind, heart, and spirit to employ my gifts, and to be of service to others. I attended Biolink Therapeutic Institute, where I was trained by a physician and a healer,which taught me both the scientific and spiritual aspects of the body. I learned about anatomy and physiology of the body, including different modalities in massage. It was after this experience that I took a leap of faith and opened a small healing clinic in Central Phoenix; Utopia Therapeutic. Soon thereafter, I was traveling to different parts of the world to learn different healing modalities. I studied with several healers and teachers, where I took classes and did my research. In addition to this experience, in 1995, had a vision on a spiritual pilgrimage to Mexico City. That’s when I developed an aromatherapy healing Elixir titled “Madre Tierra Aroma Healing Elixir Mist”. My special Aroma handcrafted mist is made with organic essential oils and is sold out of my studio at the Botanica at The Farm South Mountain and online. In 2007, I sold Utopia Therapeutic to another dedicated healer by the name of Yvonne Aramburo. My plan was to move to Sedona, but fate would have it that I created “Mi Tierra Healing Arts” and moved to The Farm at South Mountain, Phoenix. I continue to be of service as a seer, massage therapist and a traditional healer (Mesoamerican). The community recognizes me as a Mystic/Curandera (healer). I have expanded my services to include classes and private retreats. My mission is to provide compassion, relief, healing and empowerment.

Has it been a smooth road?
My personal experience is that I felt I was ahead of my time. People often did not understand what energy work meant, or what a traditional/natural healer could offer. I perpetually had to educate people by attending small health fairs and talks. At the time, many people viewed massage therapy as a luxury, when in

reality it’s preventive medicine and it is part of an essential wellness regimen. Now holistic health care and spiritual work is a multi-million-dollar business worldwide. At one point, I had two clinics at 7th Street and Bethany Home Road and another at 24th Street and Indian School. I was running ragged, and I realized that I wasn’t practicing my talk. I evaluated my situation and closed one of the clinics so that I could be balanced, calm, and stay focused on mindfulness and simplicity. I’m truly talking my talk and walking my walk.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Mi Tierra Healing Arts and Aromatherapy story. Tell us more about the business.
My business is called Mi Tierra Healing Arts, I am the founder/owner, wellness practitioner, and Seer. My offerings are; massage therapy, intuitive readings, aura clearings, home energetic cleansings, classes, and retreats. On several occasions, I’ve been hired as a spiritual guide for international groups for tours to Sedona, Arizona, a mecca for spirituality and Spiritual Seekers. I am known for my magic healing hands and my ability of foresight. One of my specialties is helping people with neck and back problems that have developed from stress. I am most proud that I’ve been in professional practice for 25 years consistently. I believe what sets me apart from others is I build relationships with people, families, and communities. I truly care. I am honored and feel privileged to provide my services on a beautiful ten-acre organic oasis, known as a hidden treasure, in the middle of a bustling city. My optimistic perspective and gregarious personality are contagious in a very joyful healthy way.

 What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I was always very intuitive, and very attracted to plants I would literally talk to flowers. I would thank them for their beauty. I had an innate wisdom. An old soul with a young spirit. I also grew up in a Xicano Barrio, a tough neighborhood, so I also had a tough exterior. I feel like it was a prerequisite to survive in our neighborhoods. I was very athletic and always enjoyed dancing. I loved performing little plays for neighbor kids and telling mystical stories.
