Meet Patricia Durocher of Global Cynergies in Scottsdale Airpark

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patricia Durocher.

Patricia, can you briefly walk us through your story, how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Becoming an entrepreneur was part of my DNA before I even realized it! I didn’t dream of starting a business, never even considered it until I came to a crossroads in my career and clients I worked with suggested that I “go out on my own”. Life is a journey; one experience led to another, and here I am four businesses later each building upon the other! I was blessed to have wonderful mentors in my life, an innate passion and drive, without which I wouldn’t be where I am today. Some call it luck, I call it God’s direction and will for my life!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There are challenges in everything; it’s how we learn, grow and persevere in business and in our own personal lives. In all aspects of business there are challenges and road blocks along the way – branding, sales, employees, competitors, ethics, economics, etc. they never go away by the way! Within one week from starting Global Cynergies I was legally served by two competitors who didn’t think I had the right to compete. The easy thing would have been to shut down before I even got started; but here we are nearly 10 years later. If you have a passion and drive for something, you look for ways to get things done. It takes grit, resolve, commitment and passion!

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Global Cynergies story. Tell us more about the business.
Using the experience of our team of over 130 industry professionals in 28 countries and our proven sourcing methodology, we save our clients time and money when they need to contract a hotel or venue for their meetings and events; anywhere in the world, at no cost to them.
