Today we’d like to introduce you to Pam Smith.
Pam, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I worked at a Call Center. One day as I was sitting at work, I decided that I had had enough! Enough of sitting in the same area day after day, enough of reading the same sales script to my customer, enough of having a headset attached to my head. It got to the point that I began referring to my headset as my undetachable umbilical cord. I FELT TRAPPED!
It occurred to me that my environment was not going to change. Having the same mundane routine every day and expecting to see a different result, without expecting a change within myself, is another definition of insanity! Quitting my job was not an option because I was a single parent and I had responsibilities.
I knew something had to change; not my co-workers nor the company’s policies and procedures but, that something or someone was me. Each day I became desperate to experience a change. As my desperation began to mount, I realized that my determination grew stronger. I began to focus on me and began my first plan of action of success. My first action plan was my attitude, my negative words and my appearance.
I was determined and committed to change from doubt and out, to lead and succeed. I realized that if I expected others to take me seriously, I had some self-evaluation and improvements to make. I needed not only to act the part, dress the part but I needed to change from my negative mindset, into a positive mind-set that would engulf every area of my plan.
That was the groundbreaking first step to an intentional and positive “New Me”. With each successful step I accomplished, I began another plan of action towards success.
After overcoming my own obstacles of limiting beliefs and self-sabotaging mentality. completing the John Maxwell Program and becoming a certified life coach. I am very passionate about working with others in realizing their potential and achieving their next level of success. Enjoying life rather than just enduring life.
Has it been a smooth road?
No not easy at all. I had to learn balance real quick. After a divorce, I became a single parent of two teenagers. I also lost my home and had to relocate. It wasn’t smoothed but it sure helped me to grow.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
