Meet Okinawa Plane Crash of Phoenix, AZ

Today we’d like to introduce you to Okinawa Plane Crash.

Hi Okinawa Plane Crash, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
We started OPC back in 2019 after our guitarist and bassist went to another show. Our first show was at the Trunk Space’s indie 500 event that year! We met our current singer not too long after that, and we’ve been going strong ever since. We even had the opportunity to tour with our friends in Afterbirth Cartoons in 2021! After a few lineup changes over the years, we got to our current state and released our most recent album in January. Since then, we have been steadily writing music for our fourth album.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
One of our biggest obstacles has been losing our singer, Jacob, for a year. He had moved to Texas, but luckily he moved back. We also had to navigate practicing during COVID.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We have 3 albums out currently, our first demos are BANNED IN TEMPE and METROSEXUALS. Our most recent album, WIZARDS OF THE WEST SIDE came out in January and hopefully will give people a glimpse into our future musical direction.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Our fans of course, our friends in Afterbirth Cartoons, Jacob’s parents, Trunk Space, Pat from Inner Skies Studios, Jalipaz Nelson, the Nile, our old drummer Cam, Marla from Hothouseorchidshop, and so many more. ANDY WARPIGS FOREVER!!!!
