Diana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I have been blessed to call Phoenix my home for the over the last 20 years, traveling all over the Valley enjoying all aspects of the desert life. Living in the Valley you learn how to become resourceful and create as little waste as possible. As a Pagan individual, personally I focus on the body, spirit and mind, connecting with a higher self through yoga, meditation, maintaining a holistic lifestyle nourishing one’s self and the Earth. As trends evolve and ever change, I noticed cat ears have been making a comeback in the festival community, I pondered and questioned how could I contribute and offer a heavily positive influence. I’ve always been very crafty and artsy when it comes to creating beautiful pieces of wearable artwork. While creating pieces, I listen to a wide spectrum of music that ignites a fire in my heart, allowing an impactful intention to fuse with the art piece.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
When working with crystals, it’s imperative that the environment used to construct such beauties be kept a consistent space of healing magnified by burning herbs such as sage, frankincense, mugwort, and myrrh just to name a few. By maintaining a peaceful space I am able to place intentions of happiness, protection and creativity into each stone being wrapped.

With any new adventure you are going to encounter diverting energy that is going to push you allowing one to become a more refined being, creating an ever changing product. The hardest aspect is finding enough time in the day to get what is required of me completed and have time for creating products. If I had one wish it would be for more time. Trial and error is the best way to create such an exquisite product amped to serve a higher purpose. I had to redo my first pair of ears multiple times before I felt confident the crown chakra would be stimulated.

OCCULTISTCROWNS is a Phoenix based business specializing in crystal healing by creating custom cat ears that are constructed with the positive intention of bringing the wearer to their highest level of vibration. I strive to create and maintain a personal connection with my kitties (customers) by utilizing social media, as well as collaborating and featuring kitties on @occultistcrowns Instagram while crediting photographers, businesses, models and creating an interweb of inclusion. Something I am most proud of is instilling a web of support and creativity, by doing so you are not only giving your business an opportunity, but you are also assisting others and their dreams. We as a human species are always vibrating with the idea that all matter is composed of energy, and crystals resonate with natural vibrations that affect the human body.

The cat ears themselves are very durable, it’s all in the placement of each stone larger or small as well as the base of the headband used. This product is durable and comfortable when it comes to feeling the beat and dancing, they can last through the gnarliest of head banging, and the deepest techno set. I am most proud of the vibration these cat ears produce, and when interacting within the community it makes my heart so full to see and hear the reactions others have when they experience the intricacy. Some stones that highly affect the Soul Star and Crown chakra are Clear Quartz, Amethyst, and Selenite which are some of my kitty’s favorites. Living in this physical plane I truly appreciate the Earth and its natural creations, by allowing myself to infuse personal intentions to form within the crystals used for these cat ears it irrevocably produced a higher vibration that can be utilized into your evening.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I strive most when I work for something I am passionate for and seeing the happiness that overcomes someone wearing my product is the goal. The future holds many different avenues for myself to purse with more intricate designs, collaborations and supporting local businesses as well as fellow artists and entrepreneurs. I also plan to maintain my personal touch in each product allowing myself to divulge into the crystal in order to create a product that produces an impactful effect. The top goal I am striving for is to be one of the first businesses to come to mind when someone is looking for a new unique piece of artwork.
