Meet Nyreesha Evans and Robbie Turner of Splash Cosmetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyreesha Evans and Robbie Turner.

Splash Cosmetics was founded by Nyreesha Evans and Robbie Turner. Nyreesha Evans is an Arizona native and Robbie Turner from Chicago moved to Arizona in 2001. This mother (in-law) and daughter team came together with a common interest in making bath bombs for daughter/granddaughter Jordyn who loves them. After doing more research the two began to get more informed about natural cosmetic products for skin care. Nyreesha aspires to be a successful business owner and Robbie is very creative and loves an opportunity to embark on a new journey. This duo of determined women have a passion for helping others and they hold strong family values.
When we were still in the product development stage we were introduced to the idea of CBD infused bath bombs. We were already familiar with CBD oil and the benefits that it offered and as we continued our research we started to think of all of our loved ones who could benefit from the use of CBD oil. We both have close family and friends who suffer from various chronic illnesses that they are treating with prescription drugs which are only decreasing their quality of life.

We then decided to make our very first pivot in our business and create all CBD infused bath and body products. We know that the use of our products can help millions of women and some men, not only to manage their physical illness but also their mental illness.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
We wish it has been a smooth road! We would say one of the very first struggles was learning how to work together and learning each others communication style and work ethics. We have a very good personal relationship, but we’ve never had a professional relationship, so it was natural for things to be a little challenging at the beginning.

Another major obstacle we faced was in our manufacturing. Our current product we sell is bath bombs which are kind of a science project with the baking soda and citric acid causing a reaction once water is added. We thought we had our bath bomb recipe ready to go into production and so we can start selling our products, but we were wrong. Once we moved manufacturing locations and began production to prepare for a vending event we made over 60 bath bombs and left them to dry until the next day. When we came back to them they all expanded and cracked to where they were no longer presentable and were unable to be sold. Over a period of about four weeks, we struggled to come up with the perfect recipe that would stop our product from expanding. After doing research and more testing we finally figured out our perfect recipe.

Please tell us about Splash Cosmetics.
Splash Cosmetics sells CBD Infused bath and body products. We currently have bath bombs for sale and are developing body butters and body washes. We specialize in natural bath and body products and we are known for keeping our products as natural as possible. We do not include any artificial colorants or additional ingredients that are not good for the skin and may cause skin irritation.

We are most proud of our mission to promote self-care by connecting physical health and mental health. So many people are suffering from chronic mental and physical illnesses and we wanted to help shed light on people’s options when it comes to treating their conditions.

What sets us apart from our competition is that our products don’t have any colorants and although we are in business to make money. We are also in the business of educating consumers on the use of CBD and the importance of mental health. We provide customers and potential customers with the tools they can use to help manage their mental health without having to use our products.

What are you striving for, what criteria or markers have you set as indicators of success?
We personally define success by breaking the generational cycle and creating financial wealth for our families and changing the lives of others. We measure this success by our customer testimonials. Each person who has purchased our product so far and has used it to treat their condition have shared their stories with us and how it has truly increased their quality of life. We know that once we are able to make our brand more visible we will be able to get our products in the hands of the people who can benefit from it them the most. We will be able to impact an entire community of people by not only selling them a product but giving them tools they can use in their day to day life. This will be a success for us!
