Meet Nina Tazi of Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Tazi.

Nina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Nina Tazi, and I am the owner of LifeTastes Events – an Event Planning and Event Renal company located in the Phoenix area. I run the business with my partner Merveille Menoh Goebel. We started this local company with the vision to provide professional and detailed event planning services to engaged couples. Our main focus was couples with a cultural flair of some sort. Our journey began when Merveille got married in 2023, we searched for a planner who could meet the cultural needs of her wedding as we are both not of original American roots. After not finding one that met our needs, we successfully organized her and seamlessly catered to the needs of all the diverse cultures present at her wedding. This success fueled us to be the change we wanted to see in our local community. This journey has led us to creating weddings for brides from various backgrouds, multicutural corporate events and many small intimate gatherings of different types.
The other arm of our business is the event rental piece. We bring the party to home that want to do a private intimate event, or couples who are in need of a one stop shop.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course the road has not been smooth! It’s 2025 :). We initially created the company to cater to couples of African descent but that market seemed tough to break into for various reasons such as cultural skepticism as to the value of an event planner, familiarity and sometimes budget limitations. Although we have been able to work with a few clients from that client pool overall it take a lot longer to build trust. This did not deter us though, we forged into other client pools where our ideas were welcomed with much gratitude and our excellent customer service was admired. With little to no business experience marketing was a growth curve, but slowly and surely, we have gotten our names out in the community through social media, wedding shows amongst others. We were found by Big Brother Big Sister where we contributed to their 70th anniversary and also were invited to a career fair at a local middle school. Faith has been the backbone of our growth and success.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Our strongest quality is personability and attention to detail. Once the trust is established between client and business owner the rest of the relationship is based on execution with professionalism and kindness. We are hand on on all the events/weddings/rentals we participate it. We offer active suggestions for colors scheme, decor pattern, catering choices and vendor list. Our event timeline cover every detail from the moment you wake up on the day of your event. This level of specification and attention to detail has been the source of great reviews from other vendors and our clients. Our outstanding customer service is probably my proudest achievements in a world where temperaments are short and stress is abundant. What sets up apart is the “CAN DO” attitude. In Cameroon where I come from we believe in making the impossible possible -within reason of course. We have a unique problem solving mindset that leaves our clients at ease.
