Hi Nikki, thanks for sharing your story with us. Maybe you can tell our readers some of your back story.
After spending a couple of years in a corporate setting, I realized it wasn’t the right fit. Seeking a change, I began exploring options for transitioning out and stumbled upon online bookkeeping training. Given my passion for finance and organization, bookkeeping seemed the perfect avenue to pursue. 

Drawing on my previous experience with basic bookkeeping tasks in other roles, I felt confident that this career path would be fulfilling. I delved into the training with determination and soon secured my first client despite the steep learning curve. Eager to expand my knowledge, I completed the QuickBooks ProAdvisor and QuickBooks Bookkeeper training programs. 

These courses not only enhanced my skills but also provided valuable guidance in establishing the foundational aspects of my business, including acquiring an EIN, obtaining city business licenses, and creating social media pages on platforms like Facebook and Instagram. With these pieces in place, I embarked on growing my business with optimism and determination. 

Let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what challenges have you had to overcome?
My primary challenge in advancing my business has been overcoming my inhibitions. As an introvert, stepping into networking and broadening my social connections has required considerable effort and pushed me beyond my comfort zone. 

Nevertheless, with each networking opportunity embraced, I’ve discovered a growing fondness for it. Engaging with fellow entrepreneurs and delving into their ventures has become an enriching experience. 

Over the past few years, I’ve encountered many remarkable business owners, each with their captivating personalities, fostering lasting connections and expanding my professional horizons. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Orange Blossom Bookkeeping was established in July 2022 following a year of meticulous planning, study, and preparation. 

Our primary objective is to alleviate the burden of financial management for small business owners, affording them more time to dedicate to their passions: serving their clients and nurturing their families. Our focus lies in catering to women business owners operating service-based enterprises. Previously, my career involved supporting women as a doula, childbirth educator, and student midwife. 

While my dedication to serving women remains unwavering, my approach has evolved. I take pride in my efficiency, integrity, and reliability. Our suite of services encompasses meticulous tracking and categorizing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, culminating in precise financial reports. Monthly reconciliations of all bank and credit card accounts ensure accuracy, with comprehensive reports promptly emailed to our valued clients. 

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you.
I hesitate to label it solely as luck, yet undoubtedly, timing and positioning have significantly contributed to the growth of my business. Establishing valuable connections through networking, attending social events, and leveraging existing relationships with friends and family have consistently attracted clients to my business. 

However, I would attribute a stroke of luck to discovering the ideal training, mentors, and supportive peers within Bookkeeper Training School. Encountering this invaluable resource through a chance encounter on Facebook has been nothing short of transformative, altering the trajectory of my life for the better.  

The combination of fortunate circumstances and active involvement has played a crucial role in shaping the success of my business pursuits.
