Meet Nicole Pavlik of Nicole Pavlik Law Firm in North Central Phoenix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Pavlik.

Nicole, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I graduated from ASU with my bachelor’s in criminal justice, I considered being an attorney. However, I knew that it was a big commitment and I wanted to make sure this was something I “really” wanted to do. I started working in a law firm in January 2004 as a receptionist and quickly moved “up” to assisting paralegals. I decided to get my paralegal certificate through Phoenix College and became a Certified Paralegal in 2005. I worked for a few firms as a paralegal but knew by 2007 that I really wanted to be an attorney. The attorneys I was working for in 2007 pushed me to take that leap and I started a part-time night program at a private law school in Phoenix in 2008. I worked full time and went to school part-time since I didn’t want to give up the opportunity to work in a law firm. In 2010, I started working for an estate and business planning firm as a law clerk and I knew right away this was the area of law I wanted to practice. I became a licensed attorney in 2012 and moved into an associate position at the law firm I was a law clerk. Unfortunately, a short six months later, the attorney I was working for decided to retire. This left me in a very tough position as getting a job in a law firm in 2013 was nearly impossible, especially in the area of law I wanted to focus on- estate planning. I was stubborn because I had spent a lot of time and money going to school and I didn’t want to just practice any area of law (divorce, bankruptcy, real estate, etc.). So, I took a leap of faith and decided to hang my own shingle. I used connections, shared office space, looked for contract work… just about anything to make my dream of being the type of attorney I wanted to happen. So, in six years, I have grown my practice and I have two employees that work for me. My mom is my administrative assistant and Caitlyn is my legal assistant. It hasn’t been easy but worth it to be doing what I love and on top of it working for myself.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Nicole Pavlik Law Firm – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I prepare estate planning documents for individuals and couples. Estate plan documents typically include Wills, Trusts, and powers of attorney. I also provide small business legal services, such as setting up corporations and LLC’s, reviewing and preparing contracts such as leases.

I am most proud that I provide competitive pricing and I am very upfront with my fees. I also do not charge my clients for phone calls. This is not typical for other attorneys. I spend a lot of time with my clients to ensure they understand things as well as possible. I don’t want my clients confused.

Is there anyone, in particular, you would like to recognize? Mentors, etc?
Attorney Karen Sinchak helped me when I was first starting out on my own. She gave me some contract work and provided guidance on how to have a successful practice. Without her help, I would not be where I’m at right now as I would have given up.

My mother, Linda Pavlik, who is my administrative assistant. She started working for me when my business started to ramp up. Her dedication to her job as my employee and my mother plus her outstanding reliability and has allowed me to grow substantially. She is my biggest cheerleader!
