Meet Nicole Brown of Nicole Brown Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Brown.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my love for photography when I had my first daughter. I never wanted a day to go by without capturing her beautiful little self in photos or videos. When my daughter was a few months old, my grandpa who is a true entrepreneur in every sense of the word offered me an amazing role in his retail camera repair/parts company. Through that opportunity he gave to me, many doors were opened and I was able to purchase my first DSLR camera!

My best friend is a photographer as well and her photos and creativity always inspired me. Her photos told a story. I wanted to create images that made me feel something as well. Once I started taking photos, I never put it down! Seeing images through that camera and lens just furthered my love for portrait photography. I wanted everyone I knew to have photos just like I had of my kids for their own families. Photographs that captured their children’s spirit, emotion and moment in time.

Photographs that they could cherish forever! I offered free photoshoots to anyone just to build my skill and learn what kind of photographer I was. After a couple years of building a portfolio and understanding the business of professional photography, I decided to move forward creating Nicole Brown Photography. Today I am so blessed and grateful to all of my clients for allowing me to capture little moments of their lives.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an entrepreneur has its own set of challenges, but specifically, I struggle with finding balance in my personal and professional life. My passion and a huge love of mine is being behind my camera and seeing smiles through my viewfinder. But I also have a beautiful family with two young daughters and I miss them so incredibly much when I travel and am on photoshoots. So finding that balance of being able to do what I love but also make sure I don’t miss out on those little moments with my babies.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Nicole Brown Photography – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a full-time photographer specializing in Weddings and Portraits. My hope as a photographer is to show people how uniquely beautiful God made them and that I can be a light to every single person in front of my camera.

What am I most proud of? When I meet new clients and when I take their photos, I put my whole heart into their family and their photos. I treat every single photoshoot like it’s my most important one.

What sets me apart? I’m not just a photographer that takes beautiful photos. I genuinely want to become a part of their life and them apart of my life. I want to build a relationship before and after their session and continue to build that relationship them and their children. I feel blessed that I am not only meeting new clients, I’m gaining new friendships.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Having just relocated my business and our family to Arizona from California, I’m really focusing on building my business here. I’m so thankful to still have my clients in California. And when I fly back into town I’m able to book and photograph a few times a year there, but I would love to start focusing on expanding in the Phoenix area and learning all there is to love about the awesome desert beauty.
