Meet Nicole Adefuye of Cole’s World in Long Island

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Adefuye.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Nicole. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I just got into the influencer world as of December 2019. Really my whole vibe is about sharing your gifts with the world. I started making YouTube videos because I felt that I could relate with other people in that aspect. I went through a brief stage in my life where I was starting to realize I have more to offer than just cute selfies on Instagram. People have always told me that I should look into YouTube and that I’d be a great candidate for becoming a brand ambassador. I never took it seriously due to not having a lot of free time cause of school. (Graduated with my Degree in Social work from Adelphi University in May 2019 with honors).

I work at a foster care agency in NY as a Sociotherapist and I love my job and being able to help children who went through similar situations that I did growing up and being in the system. I always want to show them that the life and things that they have to deal with isn’t the end all be all. My end goal with having a platform is to eventually be able to open some sort of Afterschool/Rec program for children within the foster care system. I just feel I have a lot to offer the world and my YouTube channel and connecting with other brands is how I am going to start.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has most definitely been a bumpy road. As anyone can tell you, it’s not easy at all putting yourself out there with trying to make a name for yourself. Also dealing with the lack of support from people you actually know can be frustrating at times but I always say “Strangers will always support you more than people you know.” So this can sometimes be discouraging but if you keep your head straight and stay focused, I believe a person can accomplish all they want.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
At the moment, I don’t have a business of my own but I definitely want to expand Cole’s World. I have several ideas in my head that I just have to take the right steps to start working on

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
To hopefully build a platform and use it to inspire others!
