Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicola Esposito.
Nicola, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I studied art history, design, and marketing in college. Once graduating with my BA, I started my career as a graphic designer and then moved into an art director position. After working in the industry for 13 years and having my first kiddo I decided to jump in with both feet and start my own business, my dream of owning a found objects home goods shop with pricing to meet all budgets. I wanted to cater to college grads with first job, teacher sleep, single parents, and small family on a budget who still had a passion for making their homes beautiful. I felt so strongly that your home is your Sanctuary and that you didn’t need a triple digit salary to make it a place you feel is a True representation of yourself. So I combined my love of hunting for a found unique objects to tell a story with my marketing and graphic design eye. After the store opened, we grew into a different concept of rentals and home and wedding event to stylings and are excited for 2019 to see where that brings us.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
The struggles have been just fine-tuning the process what types of things to buy trying to figure out price points that still met my true core mission and growing fast was a blessing but something I had to figure out how to do without compromising the Integrity of my business.
Dust & Heritage – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We’re known for having really unique items at great price points as well as our styling and rental studio that we just opened in our shop as of May. The rental studio is also all found objects and are perfect for small details and making weddings and events and dinner parties one of a kind and special about still setting all budgets
Is there a specific memory from when you were younger that you really miss?
Antique stores with my parents’ thrift stores with my mom collecting vintage items and things from the desert beaches are definitely is my greatest memory, which is a huge part of how I got where I am.
