Today we’d like to introduce you to Nick Medina, Corey Potts, and Sara Medina.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
My business partner and I have been in Telecom and Commercial Real Estate for the past 17 years. Opening a cocktail bar was on our bucket list for a very long time. We decided to finally open one in October of 2018 despite having no direct previous experience in the industry. However, we felt confident in the venture with our business experience and some great key employees.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with any new business, there have been several struggles along the way. These have been amplified since we had no previous experience in the industry as well. However, you quickly fix the items you can and make notes on what not to do next time.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
We are the first and only speakeasy in Gilbert, AZ. We specialize in handcrafted cocktails and are known for having outstanding quality cocktails. We have quickly gained loyal patrons since our short time opened (Oct 2018). We really strive to focus on the quality and uniqueness of our cocktail list. We truly want to bring the cocktail culture so prevalent in major cities like New York, Chicago, etc to Arizona.

What were you like growing up?
I was born and raised in Southern California. I had always had an interest in being an entrepreneur and love traveling. After graduating from high school, I joined the Army so I could travel. After having served, I was the first in my family to go to college and majored in finance.
