Meet Nicholas Lamoureux of Moon Landing in Scottsdale

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Lamoureux.

Nicholas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It’s certainly been quite the ride through different projects to land here with Moon Landing. I have always had an interest in media and content and was involved heavily with OCTIV Entertainment which was a local dance music company that myself and a group of friends had founded. Working in the music industry for the last three years included managing an artist, running an entertainment company and always bringing new fresh content for people to read.

I have a pretty unique background in media and content as well. I was a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University where I focused on broadcasting. Through my time there and learning even more with OCTIV, I have found myself in a position where I wanted to continue to bring great content of dance music to people through interviews and other creative outlets.

Moon Landing is a project that I hope to grow into a major content source for people to go to for their EDM news. With my history in Journalism, I found Moon Landing to be a unique project that I would be able to grow a team across the country and share exciting dance music news.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Starting Moon Landing has been exciting because it’s presented me with another challenge of both growing a brand and trying to figure out how to sustain it.

One of the biggest challenges is figuring out how to bring new and fresh content to the people who follow us. There’s a lot of companies out there who want to be a content provider, so it’s having great writers and people on the team who help overcome that challenge.

Another big challenge is working so many different jobs and still trying to stay on top of all the things that I need to do daily to make sure we’re continuing to bring the best content to fans.

I work a full time job, freelance for the Diamondbacks and ASU, and also run Moon Landing. The hardest part about all of that is time management and balancing my personal and work lives. I find myself at times having to cram it all into the same day, and that can get difficult when you’re editing, launching and marketing your brand at any given time.

Luckily, we’ve added some great people to the team that has been able to ease some of that workload.

Please tell us about your work.
Moon Landing is a content and news source for all things dance music. We specialize in interviewing artists, covering events across the country and highlighting producers works.

What I am most proud of is the initial team we’re building around the project. It’s hard to just pop onto the scene as a new content source without good writers and good people being part of the team, so having those people starting to fall in place has been a blessing.

I think what will set us apart from other sources is that our whole team has a focus on philanthropy, and we are figuring out ways to include giving back to the community through our platform. We have a few ideas in the future to make this a reality, so stay tuned!

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
A couple of people that I would like to shoutout are Jason Euler, Sam Wolloch and Jake Stevenson. These three individuals, in particular, have played a major role in Moon Landing.

Jason, who is one of my best friends and mentor has been with me through my entire music business career we started together. I brought Jason to his first festival and he just took off like a rocket from there, but he’s been a great person to learn from through the connections he’s made. – @JasonEulerMGMT

Sam, is now our editor-in-chief of Moon Landing, has played a major role in consistency with his great writing and content. He’s really made my life a lot easier recently. – @SamWolloch on Twitter

And Jake, who has been around for several years and through a couple of different projects, I can’t thank him enough for his dedication. – @Bass_Bandito on twitter

All three of them have played a major role in the success of Moon Landing.
